Youth movement in TB, thus the cut....at 27....I'll take him.

I'd give him a 2nd year as well.

it didn't say why they were releasing him. are they cutting him to save money for a rebuild? I remember him being a really good player for AZ. Does he have an injury history or something? This seems too good to be true lol

Arians remembers, that's what lead him to TB. Not sure the specifics, but a couple headlines:

They have good depth at the LB spot. According to ESPN it says they can recoup a 3rd round compensatory for losing Kwon Alexander and not replacing him with anyone. So there's a couple angles. They feel they've satisfactorily replaced Kwon Alexander in the LB grouping, thus get a better pick and save some cash.

I think they were referring to releasing Deonne Buchanon as the reason for the 3rd rd compensatory pick.. not due to Kwon Alexander. But maybe I'm misunderstanding your post..

Nah, losing Alexander in free agency had them getting a 3rd round comp, but because they signed Buchanon, they lose some value in their comp pick calculation. It's all in their formula.

Number of incoming players versus outgoing players (expired contracts), combined with contracts, pro bowl status, etc. They lose Alexander without adding anyone my assumption is they get a 3rd round comp pick, if they keep Deonne around for the duration, he will reduce what they get in the comp pick calculation.
