actually that's not true,a great back field gives the frontline more then 3 sec to get to the passer, its one of the reason why the patriots were able to beat the chiefs twice and the rams in the super bowl, people forget that the patriots finished as the 3rd worst pass rushing team last yr

Ramsey is definitely worth a first round pick. I'd do that even though he's an asshole and a head case. He's that good.

Wouldn't give up two firsts for him though, which is what the Jags are reportedly asking. Two firsts might be reasonable if Ramsey didn't come with all the baggage, but it's too much to pay for a malcontent headcase with a big yapper.

It’s true nearly 90% of the time, exemplified by the FACT that 10 out of 12 playoff teams were in the top half of the league in sacks last season. Teams that can get after the QB with their front four have winning records, safe to make that claim. Our non-existent pass rush is more of a concern than anything else, just like last season.

I would not trade our first pick for Ramsey. Any time a player gets into a public altercation with the head coach just spells egomaniac/headache. How often did the all time greats confront their head coaches out in the open? Moreover, he’s looking to get paid this offseason and you can bet your last dollar he’s not going to do anything other than let his ego ensure he’s paid 10% more than the current top earner at CB.

If we’re going to trade away our most valuable draft assets, then why did we hire Mayock? Build a solid foundation through the draft, then add/pay top dollar for all-stars to get you over the top. Trading for Ramsey would be the equivalent of spending your savings on a rocket engine only to place that rocket engine on a Ford Taurus. It’s negligent and honestly flat out senseless .. (the patriots have the most solid foundation in the history of the NFL via an unbreakable offensive line and consistently solid front 7), hence they always sign a star on a short term deal to get them over the top ..

Agreed. It makes an average secondary look great. The NE approach is definitely the opposite though.... as mentioned, they pay for QB/DB (and knucklehead WR's) but not for pass rushers. That's not to say they don't have any good pass rushers (Jamie Collins) but they let him walk in FA and then come back on the cheap year's later.

Aren't we on pace for 40 sacks?

3 sacks vs the Broncos and 2 vs the Chiefs for a total of 5 through the first two games. 2 coverage sacks, and 3 solid pass rush sacks which does put us on a 40 sack pace. I'm not putting too much into what we saw in game 1 vs the Broncos for obvious reasons. Watching Mahomes stand comfortably in the pocket and throwing deep ball after deep ball was a scary sight and I think the main issue is a lack of edge rush. The DT's are doing just fine pushing the pocket back but our edge rushers need to do more (aside from Mayowa), namely Ferrell and Key.

Interestingly enough Hall is outplaying Hurst this season through the first 2 games which comes as a bit of a surprise.

    Total Sacks

    Mayowa: 3.5
    Ferrell: 1
    Hall: 0.5

Raiders front four are a young
team; they will improve over time.
If the raiders do better than 4-12
this year and think they will; that
will be big for 2020 when move to
Vegas and with couple first rounder
    to play with...

Agreed on Hall over Hurst thus far, Hurst was playing late into the preseason games, where starters are normally pulled. There might be an issue with conditioning that no one picked up on outside of the staff.
