Defensive lineman typicaly play with broken hands... Should have time to heal.

Don't think he was going to get more playing time then Key. It will hurt his development this year. Can't wait for Hard Knock tuesday.

He was apparently playing after the injury with a temporary cast.

How is it going to hurt his development? The dude played right after he broke it. It isn't a broken leg or arm, cast it up and get back to work.

Maxx should get in touch with Phil Villipiano, get some tips on how to use a cast to break heads.

    Maxx Crosby DL, Oakland Raiders
Raiders rookie DE Maxx Crosby broke his hand.

The Raiders expect Crosby to be ready by the season opener, "if not sooner." This could be a situation where Crosby plays with a club on his hand if his paw doesn't fully heal before the season opener. The 2019 No. 106 overall pick is expected to receive meaningful snaps on this below-average defensive line. At Eastern Michigan, Crosby earned first-team All-MAC honors in two straight seasons while showing off 90th-percentile SPARQ athleticism.

Did you really ask how? He is only using one hand. He may have played after he broke it, most likely they didn't do an x-ray on it. When they did, they shut him down. It would be irresponsible to put a player back into a meaningless preseason game with a broken hand. I don't know if surgery is going to be required. Even if it isn't he's going to miss practice time.

He'll be fine. A lot of players have done well with a cast.
