Except that Carr isn't the greatest player ever and Gruden isn't the greatest coach ever.

beli wasn't the greatest either at one time and brady took time to become the greatest,im not saying either gruden or carr will be the greatest but we dont need em to be that to be contenders again, everybody just wants us winning again and contenders once more, baby steps but we will get there shortly imo

Belichick failed horribly as the Browns head coach and ran back to Bill Parcels, the rest is history. Some time out of the limelight and under Parcels tutelage benefited belichick. Gruden was successful but I think was too arrogant and believed he knew talent and crashed and burned in Tampa. He spent years away from coaching and learned how to better evaluate talent and refine his playbook after years of breaking down film of current and past teams. Mayock is just as passionate as Gruden but is a better talent and character evaluator than Gruden and is why he is the gm. The front office hope that Carr is what they believe he is and built a team for him to succeed. With that being said you know mayock already had data on quarterbacks for next year.
Belichick learned what he did wrong the first time, I believe Gruden did as well hence went he brought in one of the best talent evaluators in the last decade

BB always lets players go when they get too pricy and those players he brought in he never overpays for unless it is a CB. BB even said they would love to keep Brown if the price was right, but it turned out to be too high for them.

If Brady married a waitress, Belichick would've shipped him out 10 years ago.
