Cool Good Read!!!!!!! Walter Still Ok In My Book
Please Just Look Back And Remember The Horrific Play Calling (due To Bed And Breakfast Guy) And The Lack Of A Front Line That Walter Had To Play With When He Was A Starter. They Had Walter Doing A 10 Step Drop On Short Passes When It Should Have Been A Quick 5 Step Drop And Pass. I Cant Believe That The Damage Wasnt Worse From Art Shell's Second Tenure. Tom, Please Dont Ever Apply For A Job With The Raiders Again. I Dont Know If My Heart Could Take Another Season Like That. If I Can Sit On My Couch And Call Every Play Before Oakland Played It On Offense, What Did You Think A Nfl Defense Could Do??????????????

I would like to see Culpepper come back and be the 2nd QB under Russell.
They're about the same build and he seems like he could be a very good mentor.

I would like to see a vet come in to back up Russell who can help him along.Walter is cheap but I would rather see someone who can help him grow who has been around the block.Trent green would be a good fit IMO.Glad to see Rhodes restructure

IMO Walter is vet enough to serve as a back-up. Russel needs to play and develop chemistry with our HC, who will be on him like a bee on honney.

Heard a rumor though that Russel was clouse to 300 pounds...i hope this is not true!!!

Cool Walter knows the system, showed he can use it in 2007
keep him around, save some money, hopefully JR will be in all year anyway. Everyone bust's Walters balls because of what happened in 2006, Dont blame it on him that Art Shell and company had him doing 10 step drops on short passes. He will be fine.

That would be an exceptable scenario right now. Russell is indeed a newer model of Daunte. As mentioned in RINY's fine write-up, Josh would have been really good in that spot.

I don't feel as warm-n-fuzzy about Walter as some others have. He doesn't seem to be too accurate with throws deeper than 10-yards down the field ... and I'm talking about when he does have time. However, he's still young, hasn't been beat up much, so a good deal as of now, again, as elaborated on in RINY's write-up.

i feel good about our QB situation now. Mccown was a joke last year- glad he's gone. Russell/walter is a better combo than mccown/culpepper/russell/walter. walter will be fine as a backup next year. The way i see it mccown had one good game ast year against denver but he lost numerous games for us with his wea arm and lack of skills. If we had a real QB last year we would have won 2-3 more games. Culpepper isn't worth paying to be a mentor at this point. Russell's needs to get out there and play.
