Good news. I hope Huggy Jr. has a big year. The kid runs hard.

DT, DE, LT, WR, SS, C -- are all need areas that can be addressed via FA and the draft with Fargas on-board.
As for Kiffin indicators, given the fact that this is the Raiders, who knows, I've said all along that he'd be here in '08-'09, and then all bets are off.
If the Raiders can lock-up Tommy Kelly, Aso, and perhaps a Corey Williams (DT) then this positions them with tons of flexibility for the draft.
Chris Long? Glen Dorsey? Sedrick Ellis? Jake Long? A trade?
This is the kind of flexibility that bodes well for a rebuilding franchise looking to take the BPA, and return a competent, well-rounded team to the field.

Well said.

Great read. I'm glad that the Raiders locked him up for the next 3 years. The $12M 3yr. contract is pretty cap friendly, too. Not to mention the $6M guaranteed that he got, also. Hopefully, this is an indication of where the Raiders are focusing in the draft. Most think we should go with defense, and I agree that drafting McFadden, while he may be a good RB, would not be the most beneficial for the team. Our defense needs to be shored up, and with Sapp retiring, that opens up another hole that needs to be filled.
Congrats to Fargas, and the Nation looks forward to seeing you on the field again next year...

I hope that we keep Rhodes, but Al will probably ask him to restructure, as Jordan did. The chance that Huggy Bear finishes the year w/o injuries are slim.

Great Fargas signs a new deal, is a superstar for three games then gets hurt. That is his cycle. I personally wanted the organization to get an everydown back. Oh, well.

Hopefully this will put an end to the McFadden craze and we can finally draft a player we actually need like Dorsey or Ellis

resign >verb 1 voluntarily leave a job or position of office. 2 (be resigned) accept that something undesirable cannot be avoided.

I wish.
Fargas sucks.
I was hoping we'd get a shot at Mike Hart if he falls far enough. Tiny, but AWESOME.
