Question about ticket sales

I haven't been able to get tickets to the Pittsburg game and was actually considering buying season tickets to be able to get tickets to a couple of games and for the just plain thrill of being a season ticket holder.

My question: is it illegal/unethical to sell the rest of the tickets? I'm talking about face value, not inflated prices like on e bay; I'm assuming that is scalping and not legal.

I thought about just buying the tickets for the games I want on e bay but they are more expensive than some of the season tickets, also I didn't know if that were illegal, are the tickets valid etc, etc.

If I lived closer to Californina I would use every ticket myself but I live in Montana and the plane fares are horrendous.

I assume it would be ok to give away the remaining tickets but thought I would see about recouping some dollars if it were legal.

I am not sure what the Raiders policy is on tickets. I am a season ticket holder and last year you were able to forward to someone through the site but this year it says that option is not available.

When I clicked on the "MyRaiders Account" on raidernation.com it took me to a spot that says " My Oakland Raiders Account Manager lets you manage your season tickets quickly and easily. Now you can forward tickets to a friend - up until two hours before the start of the game."

Did you get different information when you purchased your tickets?

If I could even give the tickets to someone when I can't go I would feel better than just letting those tickets go to waste, especially when it seems like sales are better this year and people are having trouble getting tickets.

Most important though, I don't want to do anything that would violate the law or Raiders policy; I would be heartbroken to get in the Raiders bad graces.

Thanks!

Update:

I've decided to take the plunge and buy season tickets regardless of whether the unused ones can be sold or given away.

I really want to be a season ticket holder and this way my conscience is clear.

This is going to be a great season!!

I believe you can sell you tickets just not on their premises.

There's always people here looking for tickets.

Congrats on being a season ticket holder

I just bought my season tickets, section 108. I hope I will be able to see the games, I'm only 5"1'' but it's so close to the black hole that I'm sure I can find a way to deal with the height issue.

Once I had purchased the tickets, I saw on "my account" that the tickets can't be forwarded due to team policy but that's ok. The Raiders are my only hobby and I now know what to tell people to give me for birthdays, Christmas, anniversarys etc: plane tickets! Who knows, I might make it to all the games!

Season tickets can be sold for face value, the ticket office does not encourage selling for profit or enflatted prices like you will see on web sites. However, season tickets are transferable, you can give them to friends, family, or donate and can use as a tax write off. Give me a call if you would like to get season tickets, I do have some great seats still available.

Thanks

In California it is not illegal to resell tickets above face value.

I do not know the laws in Montana, and if indeed they are applicable for an event that takes place in CA.

Yeah, I still haven't come down to earth. I'm driving eveybody at work nuts showing them my tickets.

My family always asks me what I want for my birthday, Christmas etc and I can never think of anything. Then it dawned on me, (duh) that the Raiders are my only hobby, passion, obsession so why not ask for contributions to my Silver and Black fund.

I'm guessing it's safe to say I'm the only Montana grandmother with season tickets.
