RUNDMC was a great pick. Kiff. did not make this pick it was AL. just to clear it up. The thing that i think that there trying to do is solidify the offense as a powerful force and hope that our D can make some big plays to keep us ahead or in the game. If our offense can stay on the field our defense can rest and play agressive when they are on the field. and I think Al (and myself) are getting tired of being run over by l.t. and l.j. He wants to punish them the way the west has punished us. I love it. O-LINE PLEASE DON'T MESS THIS ONE UP. D anyone see him playing quarter back. boy would it be nice to see a running back throw a touchdown in san diego other than l.t.

The run defense is not as bad as it looked last year. However, the offense was every bit as bad as it looked last year. The really bad offense allowed opposing teams to run the ball over and over to speed up games, knowing that soon as they scored 13 points they were going to win. Anyone remember the Rams defense when they went to the Super Bowl? Statistically they were a very good defense that created a lot of turnovers, because their offense built leads and caused the other team to have to throw the ball to catch up. The Rams defense was really not that good, just as the Raiders defense was not that bad. But when you score 10 points a game, other teams can do what they want.

So it's the offenses fault that the defensive unit was unable to stop ANYONE from running for 100 yards? So when RON DAYNE ran for over 100 with Echemandu to mix it up, that was all the offenses mistake? I'm sorry, I just don't see how the offensive line, quarterback, wide recievers, and running backs have anything to do with STOPPING THE RUN.
The offense last year was leaps and bounds better than the 2006 offense. Yet the run defense was worse. So your argument holds about as much water as a bucket with no bottom. No offense meant...
I do agree that this year's team should be better on both sides of the ball, but I am concerned that teams will still be able to beat up the Raiders with their running game.

They play a part in it, it's called not giving the ball back to the opposing team over and over on turnovers and 3 and out, you need to be able to control the clock...lets let this play out and see what happens, DMac was by far the BEST player in this years draft, he's a playmaker who puts points on the board and will certainly take pressure off of Russell...it's all about the team that scores the most points, and it should be interesting how the additions that were made this offseason to the offensive side of the ball play out, not to forget a couple of solid upgrades made to the defensive side of the ball in the secondary.
