That's easy if Kiff stays ( which i hope he will) he'll pick up booty in the 5th or 6th round if he's still there.

Good read as usual. I think depth will come, however, with the money we are spending, it won't come this year - we can't afford it.

It would be a mistake to go with JaMarcus, Walter, and a rookie IMO. Personally I think we should pursue Mark Brunnell. I would like a vet like that in JR's ear between series.

This is so simple
Now Big Al, This one is very simple. You can go for J.D. Booty because he knows Kiffin's system....And Trade Walter to the Falcons for J.D Shockley..Shockley knows Knapp and Cable's zone offense......J.D & J.D. Baby........simple. But trade Walter now.

I still like Walter, and i thought he looked pretty good everytime he played last year, whether it was preseason or the one regular season game he played in. Frankly in the preseason i thought he was playing as good as, if not better than McCown. I was shocked when he got pulled out of the competition. I would be comfortable with 2 QBs. Plus we got Curry and Bush that could be emergency qbs.
ideally it would be nice to get Russell another mentor, but as far as playing time, i am ok with just Russell and Walter. |

Agreed. A rookie would definitely not be the best choice. JR needs to learn from a vet that has been around.

Great read Vic. Thanks for the offering. My druthers would be a signal caller with some real world experience in the NFL. Not a lot of those avaliable today, but as FA moves along and teams start shedding overhead, there will likely be someone aviable that fits the bill. I will take a wait and see attitude...

Walter should be the primary backup unless he has problems with Russell being the man. If he does then we should look to trade him for say a fourth or fifth round draft choice. The Bills might swap him even up for disgruntled J.P. Losman. Both players salaries are similar.

There are several free agent quarterbacks available, of which I'd look at:
1. Culpepper (assuming he doesn't get the multi-year deal he seeks) 2. Rattay 3. Green (assuming he understands he must now work for close to league minimum) There's always Jeff George!! ![]() Barring any of the above, it does look like we'll have to pick up a QB in the draft.
