Ok. Here's one question I have.. In watching the game last night, I was wondering if someone can explain to me exactly what took place w/Shane Lechler, when he was injured. I mean, I didn't even know you could do that! LOL What actually happened and is there certain 'terms' to explain it or does it not ever happen.. I mean, when he does a kick off to the other team, how can he take the ball and run w/it??? Sorry guys if this is a complicated question. Any info would be helpful.

you can fake a punt and have your punter run or throw for a first down. but in this case, it was a bad snap from kenny smith who is filling in for adam treu, who is injured. once lechler recieved the snap, the defensive special teams of the whiners was close enough to block his punt so he just ran with it.

Fake punts are risky and often they do not work. Also, there are more discpline teams who react better. Coaches have become more conservative with their approach.

great question. pittsburgh usually is good for a couple every now and then but thats about it. remeber lechler actually played qb in high scholl not sure about college though.
