Who should the Raiders draft with the 7th pick in the 2005 Draft?

By letting C Wood go its the addition by subtraction factor. You trade C Wood and let someone else pay his hefty salary then you take that money and place it on other FA talent. There are a lot of serviceable CB's that can come cheaper. Just look at the Pro Bowl game they put the best of the best out there on D and they still could'nt stop all that offense. IMO there is no panacea for Defenses. But we sure could use a Derrik Johnson via the draft. We already need to replace a LB and getting someone elses draft pick could make that possible. C Wood is going to cost around 10 mil. I would rather pay five players who deserve 2 mil each then pay one player 10 mil. By stating that I would rather pay 5 players 2 mil a piece would mean that those five are pretty darn good to start with. The avg NFL salary is 750K. Jerry Rice and Tim Brown both made half of that. I know people get attached to players but what is best for the team as a whole is what is important. C Wood gets hurt too much. What good is it to pay that much money to a part time player?
