Oh I read something about that the US version has extra securtiy or something like that and will make it very hard to hack... but other than that the U.S. and jap version are pretty much the same exact thing

I just signed up to be a beta tester for socom psp. I should find out within 10 days, got my fingers crossed. Looks like a cool game

I spent a lot of money on mine man, I went all out. I bought the PSP, a 1gig mem card, a case with a ton of accessories and 4 game and 2 movies. LOT o dough. I was certain I would have buyers remorse, absolutely positive I would. I never spend that much money at a time.......

I haven't. Haven't even breifly had remorse. It is everything I hoped it would be and more. The number of good titles out is limited, but growing so fast I don't even notice, some of the games already out are so great I can play them for months. It is the best interface on any MP3 player out there and I love to download podcasts and play them on my PSP at work.

I just can't say enough man, I almost want to buy stock in it, that is how happy I am with it.

If you can afford it and have the desire, the pros FAR FAR outweigh the cons.



To another poster, sure 2.0 does have addes security and if you were using homebrew on your PSP before it will jack it up. However, despite the fact that 2.0 is supposed to be unhackable, it took 10 days to hack the Japanese version. One of the reasons that the US release was delayed was supposedly to fix that flaw, sure enough that hack didn't work for the US version, but 2 days after release, 2.0 has been hacked. It isn't nearly as widespread, but they are out there.

The issue with it is they will constantly be updating the firmware to combat these hacks, to me it isn't that big a deal because the additions they made in 2.0 were better than the homebrew stuff you could do. I just updated and waited a couple days and tried out the new hack.

There is a cool one out there that let's you stream media from your comp to your PSP. Not necessarily useful, but neat. I was watching Command N stream on my comp and had to go to the bathroom, so I just linked up my PSP to the net and streamed it from my comp to my PSP and didn't miss a beat.

i almost crapped my pants!!!!......I woke up thursday morning and my screen had turned from blue to violet!!!.I thought ohh damm my psp is broken. So i did some research and it happpens to be that the psp main screen changes color from month to month.......wheeeeeeeeeeeehheewwwww.

Just a little update....a few months later I am still very happy with my PSP and my wife is into it too. She is not a video gamer AT ALL, but likes Lumines and Hot Shots Golf. I highly reccomend it.

the psp is a great system and I have to agree with everything that you said Gus and thanks for the gamefly idea...I was wondering about how I could rent some games and movies for when I go to the road games so I have something to pass the time on the airplane and the Hollywood Video and Blockbusters don't have anything yet for rental
