Billick said he believes Moss "has a lot of upside left" and called himself "a Randy Moss fan," but Billick quickly added that he thinks Moss' problem has been all the losing. After reaching the NFC championship game as a rookie in 1998 and again in 2000, Moss' three most recent teams have gone 8-8 (the Vikings in 2004), 4-12 (the Raiders in 2005) and 2-14 (Oakland last year). Although he's been chosen for seven Pro Bowls, Moss has never played in a Super Bowl.

Asked what it will take for Moss to regain his form, Billick replied, "A recommitment and refocus on Randy's part, which I think he's capable of doing, and getting the right people around him, because you can't do it by yourself.

"There's a certain professionalism that you've got to work through that when you're not in that circumstance, you still have to give it your best and be a professional. And he probably needs to work on that a little bit. (But) I don't think Randy is selfish. I think he truly believes in his heart of hearts that, 'If you give me the ball, we'll win.' Like all great players do.

"If you understand it from that perspective, I think you can understand Randy a little bit better. It's not 'I want my numbers, I want my yardage.' He's got the money, he's got the Pro Bowls, he's got the numbers. He's about winning. And sometimes that manifests itself in a way that's hard to understand. (But) if you get the right people working with him, yeah, I think he can still be a dynamic force in the league."

I hope Moss realizes that Kiffen is very sharp and when the Raiders have the ball in the Red Zone that Kiffen would never think about sitting out his best WR and replace him with a O lineman and throw the ball to the O lineman like Shell and BB did, that frustrated the hell out of me, I could only imagine how Randy felt.

I can only imagine how Walter felt hanging in there until he got creamed in an effort to get Moss the ball, only to see him give up repeatedly on the play, not fight for a ball, or see it bounce off both of his hands and fall to the ground.

I also remember clearly several would-be TD's and many more would-be 1st downs dropped. I bet his teammates stuck in the same system were pretty frustrated too watching this repeated display of 'quit'.

I might be in the minority but after seeing Moss refuse to fight for balls in the middle of the field, one part of Shells decison making i actually could understand is the staff not expecting him to fight for it when the field is so much shorter in the red zone. Never understood what was not to get about that one.

Getting creamed was the Linemen's fault not Moss, Moss probably was surprised and did not expect to see a ball get to him the way the O line played and the way Walter fumbled snaps. Moss was not the only one dropping balls out there, most of the balls thrown last year were not even thrown Mosses way they were thrown to Lamont Jordan and the TE's who could not catch a cold. Everybody is mad at Moss but the whole team offense was rancid because of the coaching, I'm mad at the coaching I can forgive Moss it's not like he killed anyone sheesh.

I guess Moss is the only one who was paid 9 million a year to drop em and then publically admit that it was likely due to him being 'sad'.

Raiders knew what they were signing when they signed him for that 9 million dollars. Until the Raiders get a QB nobody will ever know how good he really can be.

Balls hitting a guy repeatedly in his hands and being dropped are the quarterbacks fault now. Got it....
