Could David Carr be trade bait?

Quote:
David Carr's future with the Texans is in limbo.

Owner Bob McNair was noncommittal about Carr on Tuesday, saying the fifth-year quarterback is being evaluated

"David has been inconsistent, and we've said that," McNair said after attending a Texas Bowl luncheon at the JW Marriott.

"We've got to get better consistency there, either with David or some additional help."

Asked if he would be willing to take a salary-cap hit by releasing Carr, 27, either through a trade or free agency,

McNair said: "We've been willing to do whatever we need to do to win.

I'd really love to have Carr, I remember wishing we would draft him when he was at Fresno. I could see him becoming the next Plunkett for us.

there gonna get rid of him, his is a good QB, that needs a diffenrt team... he has a good arm and is mobil someone will easly give them a 3rd round pick for him.. and thats when Jake Plummer comes in..

I'd take Carr for a 3rd round pick and let him & Walter battle it out in camp for the starting job. That would allow us to go in a different direction with our 1st pick like Adrian Peterson, Calvin Johnson or Marshawn Lynch

Interesting food for thought. So many variables as FA and the draft approach. This should be both fun and nerve wracking...

Kiffin was a 5th year SR when Carr got to Fresno St. He became a assistant coach that year and coached there 2 years.

I would love this! I believe with the right supporting cast Carr will be good and between him and Walter we would have a quality QB and wouldn't have to pay $40 Mil for a rookie QB...

I wouldnt mind having Carr. Hes not that bad, and could compete with Walter if we can get a good line. I think we could trade Moss, and draft CJ. I think we could then get back into the first round and get Lynch. That would be my dream draft. I think that then we could get Zach Miller with the 1st pick in round 2. I dont see the bears wanting to use a 1st round pick on a TE. That would be a great draft for our offense in the first 2 rounds.

Carr is pretty good especially playing without an Oline all his career.

After watching the Texans blow the first pick overall last year....mostly over $$$....I don't think they want to pay it again...or face the media bash again for passing over Reggie Bush, and Vince Young for a good...but not first overall good DE.
