Yeah, he reminds me of a better Tim Brown - character, talent, leader,... everything you want on and off the field.
He'll be great. But a great receiver doesn't equate to Superbowls.

Draft JaMarcus Russell, otherwise Raiders should trade down for multiple offense picks. I support Coach Lane Kiffin and his staff in choosing the right team players to make their new offense system work. Goo Raiders!!

As talented as he is, is he really worth the # 1 overall selection. Of the
top 25 WRs in the NFL as this point only 12 were 1 rounders. The highest drafted of those 25 was Fitzgerald at # 3. Even the likes of Harrison, Holt and Steve Smith were not drafted in the top 5 with Smith being a second rounder. Case in point is that IMO NO WR is worth the number 1 overall selection. There has only been 2 WRs taken at # 1. Keyshawn Johnson and Irvin Fryar. Although they were/are talented players, they still weren't worth the # 1 selection.

How can you pick a WR at #1? Recievers are 1 dimensional players for the most part. Where as a great RB can do so much. He can Run the ball 25 times in a game controling the clock, catch the ball out of the backfield, and create opportunities for the passing game. And anyone tell me why we cant pick AP at #1 but we can pick JR at #1(THATS JUST STUPID). Whats the damn difference. JR will probably be even more money hungry than AP is.

We need a QB that will get him the ball. Russell is the real deal, i can't wait for the combine and to read the reports about him. he has a cannon for an arm, pocket precense and mobility. he will be like a better version of McNabb. He will bring explosiveness to the offense, not a WR. We could draft a WR in later rounds, if we trade moss, get the fastest WR avaliable. and we have our deep threat. AP will get hurt, he won't even give us three years. he'll keep getting hurt and missing games. Russell will win for us.

with a big powerful arm and look where that got him.

no JR, or AP
not that i dont like both of these players, but are you really going to draft AP just so you can sit lamont, one of our highest playersm, on the bench? thats not really utilizing our cap space. as far as russell goes, hes a project, i live in SEC country and have gotten to see him play in person. people seem to forget his body of collegiate work, the SEC was down, and he took advantage of that by stacking his stats. i think he could become a good QB but if he goes in the top 5, he ll be thrown into a bad situation and end up like akili smith, the answer is calvin johnson, best player on the board, most nfl ready, needs little work to become an IMMEDIATE STARTER, thats what you look for in a first round pick, you build a team with picks in the next couple of rounds, and day 2 picks, CJ21 equals filling a need and requires less seasoning, just my opinion though.
