I'd like that! HOWEVER, I'd rather someone that Kiffin wants, and not someone that is a Raider. But if Kiffin likes the idea, then I'd love to see Brown back on board!
Get Tim Brown as WRs coach??? Anyone interested??

Darnell Dockett speaking about Darren McFadden, the BEST running back in the NFLI have great respect for that man. That (expletive) runs hard, I mean harder than anybody I've ever seen
I seriously doubt that Tim Brown comes back to the Raiders in any capacity in the future. Times are different now from when Fred B. played. The players make too much money during their playing days and don't need to bust their asses coaching after they retire. Tim Brown is a smart articulate man with business ventures and does work on TV / radio so I assume that he'll be set for life. Lastly, Brown and the Raiders parted on less than ideal terms so I don't think there is a lot of love between the two parties.
Any evidence the dude can teach? Have any of the young dudes that came up in our system behind hi been blockbusters? Hear anyone raving about what they have learned from Tim?
Great player does not always mean great coach.

not a good idea. He would undermine coach Kiffin.
Lets stop worrying about being a retirement home for raider greats. I love Brown, Gannon etc., but we have to stop pretending that a great player is automatically a great coach.
Being a coach is about teaching. Not just a strong personality, knowing how to disseminate information. Organizing your time. Being able to scout yorself and your opponants. Knowing your own weaknesses. Knowing what can be taught and what should be instinctive.
There is a lot more to coaching than "he was good at what he did."
BTW, Tim is on a campaign to ingratiate himself with the media by being an anti-raider schill, so he can ensure he can be a first ballot hall of famer.
I don't take it personally, he thinks it is required.
Maybe after he gets into the hall, we should talk to him about scouting for us, or ease him into an assistant coaching role, but I don't see any evidence that just by virtue of being Timmy B he can help us.

No thanks. I'd prefer somebody in that position that has actually coached at some point on his life. Tim was a great WR, but he hasn't even coached Pop Warner or High School. In my mind he is completely unqualified for an NFL coaching job. Now if he wants to start as an assistant coach, I'm fine with that as long as somebody is there to hlp him get his feet wet.

I love Tim when he played for the Raiders however I'm not so sure he is a coaching type.![]()
