Will Knapp Bring Schaub ?

I don't see anyone mentioning the significance of the Knapp Hiring... #1 I like Knapp and wanted him as our O.C. 3 seasons ago when Mora turned down the job... #2 Is it possible he brings Schaub with him ?? That will free us up from having to wait 2-3 seasons for a rookie QB to be groomed. We can concentrate on other needs in the draft.

He's a (restricted) FA, right? Seems like the cost will be high.

Yeah, here's a write-up on free agent QBs. Schaub is at the top of the list, but I think they're really pushing Rattay as they list him twice (see the "other" list). (-;

Yes. Shaub is a RFA but Atlanta still has to make him a qualifying offer before we give up a draft pick for him. I wouldn't mind giving up a 2nd or 3rd for him. I think it is better than drafting a QB #1 and waiting 2-3 years to be a contender.

Rattay? Please, he couldn't start over Grad(something) in Tampa...

I like the list of possible trades there better though. Trade moss for Julious jones maybe but I don't know how much that would actually help.

Vince did pretty well this year. (-:

A 2nd or 3rd isn't bad (considering the risk associated with a 2nd-round QB like Troy or something) but there's also the high salary requirements I presume we'd have to give. And Atlanta can match and keep him, right? Does it then turn into a bidding war, essentially?

Frankly, this option isn't too bad in my opinion... a little less unknown than a rookie QB, and it would allow us to get CJ or AP or whatever in the 1st. Dropping Moss/Porter and picking CJ would be an improvement as I've stated elsewhere, and would presumably give us back a 2nd or 3rd. It's almost like you get Schaub for free! (-:

That would make sense Knapp knows Shaub, maybe we make some kind a trade? It has been rumored so it wouldn't surprise me. Then we could look at ether a RB or WR in the draft or even trading down a few spots. But we still need to fix our O-line or no QB in the world will help us.

Who knows...thats one of those things Al would have to engineer. Who says Shaub and Knapp even get along. Maybe they hated each other and Shaub wouldn't want to be around him. We'll just have to wait and see.

Edit: Go read this on a Shaub/Knapp to Oakland theory. Might actually be worth looking at. Maybe Al reads that site.

I have heard about Vick, Shaub, Leile, and Duckett...sounds like we are turning into the Falcons Personally if we are going after a vet QB I say we trade for Carr his value is down compared to Shaub and we could get him for less....and IMO he's better

thats actually a good idea i never thought of that maybe they are thinking or that. and since knapp is a wc kinda guy i hope that means that we are kinda getting away from the deep ball but also not a total wc offense.

I like this idea more then drafting one of the QB's at the #1 pick of the draft.

it is a good idea but how do we really know if shaub is a franchise qb? i mean he had like 2 good games and everyone is calling him the best non starting qb in the nfl and wasted talent.i think we need to see him start a few more games first

I think it would be a great decision. Especially if we unload Moss to GB giving leaving us with:

QB: Shaub
RB: Jordan
WR: Porter
WR: Curry
WR:Gabriel

2 top 15 picks (10 & 15): Which could end up being D.Jarret and M.Lynch

not to shabby

It would be nice and make a lot of sense, but Knapp doesn't make the decisions around here...
