Interesting location for a dual use stadium, it is a split down the middle. Is thier transportation infrastructure to get all the fans down there? I.E does BART go all the way south, can the freeways handle the load? It sounds like a longshot at this time in any event...

And correct me if I’m wrong here but weren’t the A’s looking into building a stadium on the other side of 66th? Now that the A’s will be taking up residence in Fremont why not just build our stadium where the A’s proposed their original plan? Quote:
They have just ADMITTED that the league HATES the Raiders. So, if we are hated why in the world would we want to partner up with one of our enemies? And just how does this and how much of this HATE spill onto the playing field hmmm? I don’t want any charity thank you, let’s build our own “football” stadium just like majority of other teams, paint it silver and black with a huge sign out front that says… WARNING: HATERS, ENTER AT YOU OWN RISK! ESPECIALLY BIAS OFFICIALS.

That's right, so stop begging us 49ers.

I don't like the idea of sharing a stadium with the 49ers, but it does make sense. Luxury boxes that actually could sell. Double the usage for two teams, means more income. Trask didn't actually deny it, just refused to speak on the subject. This should be interesting to see how this shakes out.

I've been saying all along that this is probably the only way the Raiders get a new stadium in the Bay Area.
Hopefully they can find a way to get it done..If Giantfan and Jetfan can share a stadium, probably anyone can. |

Agree, They hated each other in the day. I personally would rather the Raiders make it on there own. But I do see some real upside. Half the cost means double the profit. double the profit means a stronger franchise which means being able to bring in top FA's. If you think they don't look at the facilities that they would be using your crazy, and while the HOT is a fan freindly stadium for the players the facility is utterly out of date.

Hypothetically, wouldn't it be cheaper from a property value standpoint, to build it on the Oakland side of the bay?
If it went through, they could just implode the H.O.T., and build the new stadium in the same spot.

Since I'm originally from the Bay Area, I "hate" the Niners and their fans.
I do however see merit in this idea. For a team like ours, that has struggled with finances for the last decade, I think having a "New Stadium" (shared or not) would go a long way towards keeping the fanbase happier and making the games a much more pleasant place for Raiderfans to attend. I loved (love) going to the Oakland Coliseum, and it's a great event no matter the weather, or opposing team, but to dismiss the opportunity for my team to get a brand new stadium to play in would be crazy. I've sat in the nosebleed section at McAfee and those seats aren't worth squat! You get a better view on TV. ***Side note - I'm also biased because this would allow me to stay at my sister's house in San Jose' and visit all my homies in Santa Clara County whenever I fly in for a home game.

We're at the very bottom of the revenue stream in the NFL. We need a new stadium. If the Chargers get a new stadium that would make 2 teams in our division that will probably make 100+ million more then us in any given year. If sharing a stadium is what it takes to get the money flowing in then so be it.

Does brie cheese and tequilla?
Screw the emotional crap. If we get a world class stadium out of it, and it benefits the Raiders, do it. Of course, it has to be named Al Davis stadium. Ok, maybe the Davis/Walsh (Bill) stadium.
