Greg Knapp

is there any truth to the rumor that Kiffin is tabbing Knapp to be his OC? i heard this from two separate radio shows, one on sirius and the other on a local espn radio show.

Knapp would be a good hire....he's a WCO guy and he's from Sactown. anyone else hear this?

Yea he is the link http://www.insidebayarea.com/sports/ci_5092174

the only problem is he might now take the job because he wont be able to call the plays...

Knapp being a WCO guy is irrelevant when we're using Kiffin's playbook and Kiffin is calling the plays.

Kiffin calling the plays is a bad idea.....for one thing, he's going to have to get used to making overall coaching decisions while he's on the field. its a lot different than being up in the booth.....and having an OC up in the booth making adjustments based on defenses, etc. is really important.

ambitious on Kiffin's part, but he should just maybe think about doing what Shanahan does on the Donks.....map out the first two offensive series of the game and leave the rest to the OC.

I think Kiffin will be just fine calling plays. I do hope that Knapp excepts the offer and becomes OC of the Oakland Raiders though.

Is Kiffin really gonna be calling the plays? If so then why the hell would we bring in Knapp? I think he kinda got thrown under the bus by ATL Vick simply can't run a WCO his playcalling wasn't that bad.

Unless Petrino decides to keep him, otherwise he's out and no other teams need an OC.

knapp will refuse the job because he wants to call the play and kiffin said he wants to call the play, dont need an oc if the head coach call the play.

i think davis would have pick ryan as head coach and kiffin as oc to call play, more logic than to have an oc like knaap who will not call the play. very bizarre

If he is hired, I believe he would probably be an assistant HC and help with the game planning and stuff like that.

Knapp has been hired by the raiders. that's great news, i think he'll have power when it comes to play calling, he'll help kiffen to make adjustments and help in gameplans for the games. With that hire alone Kiffin is better than those last two clowns. Turner and Shell. Now let's wait for free agency and the draft. time for the raiders to be winners
