He did have a good year in the back up role, but I'm still gonna have to pass. 37 1/2 years old when next season starts is a little too old for my taste, especially when he would have to come in here and pretty much start from scratch in a whole new scheme and a re-building process (he couldn't do it in Cleveland or Detroit).
A guy like Garcia is best used in a situation where he's at right now, a perennial playoff team that needs a quality backup to keep the team going, and that's exactly what he did. At his age, he's not really a guy you start fresh with. And please don't bring up Gannon, Rich was 33 years old when we signed him, that's about a 4 year difference in age compared to Garcia now.
