Pete Carrol convinces Sark to stay...

Finally, the truth comes out. After hearing all night that "No reason was given" about USC assistant Steve Sarkisian turning down an offer to become the head coach of the Oakland Raiders the cluses start to fall into place. This from the LA Times:
"I know I'm a very strong candidate for the job and I know it's a wonderful opportunity to be a head coach in the National Football League for the Oakland Raiders," Sarkisian said. "But I'm not going to go for it. I'm not going to take it. I'm going to stay."
The article later went on to say:

USC Coach Pete Carroll said he competed to keep Sarkisian and was elated that he would remain with the Trojans. Carroll declined to comment about salary increases or other incentives that were offered to Sarkisian.

"It's a huge statement about Sark being clear about what he wants to do with his career and work toward his goals," Carroll said. "He's clear that he's set his sights on being a head coach in college football. He's equipped and prepared to do that. It's just a matter of time."

Did Carroll offer him a raise and more responsibility to stay? Or was it simply that he is soured by Carrol's constant horror stories of his own NFL experience?

I called it in the other thread....

Once Cameron took the Miami job it OFFICIALLY (see Nick Saban) meant Carrol stays on as SC HC...

He then most likely assured Sarkisian of a bigger and better job as a coach with him at SC...

WHAT COULD BE A BIGGER AND BETTER JOB THAN HEAD COACHING THE RAIDERS????......LOL ......YOU MEAN STAYING IN USC AS AN ASSISTANT/QB COACH?......LOL
