Fans of J Russell and Brady Quinn read this !!!!!!

http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm
WHERE DOES QUINN STACK UP?

In response to our item from Tuesday night regarding the Lions' leanings toward tackle Joe Thomas with the No. 2 pick in the draft, a league source with extensive experience selecting college players tells us that it's far too early for any team to be making such suggestions.

"In Thomas' case, yes he played well, but he also tore his ACL last year in their bowl game," said the source. "Team doctors need to look at the knee and see how good the surgery was."

Then again, details like that might be lost on the Lions.

The more stunning aspect of the communication was the source's indictment of Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn.

"Anyone who thinks Quinn is the first player or even JaMarcus Russell is smoking too much dope," said the source. "Just because they may be the top quarterbacks doesn't mean they will be drafted at the first spot. Hell, I wouldn't draft Quinn in the first 20 and maybe not in the first round. He chokes in every big game."

People its a no brainer !!! Calvin Johnson will be a Raider !!! Dump Porter and Draft Calvin

Stabilize the run game. A big time runner will get us TOP and help keep the QB upright. Also, a good RB will pass protect. Two needed areas badly. Not to mention catch passes out of the backfield.

WR in the first round is not sound.

Your thinking about Adrian Peterson right ?

Calvin is not just another WR. Your looking at Porter's replacement and I bet you he will be better than Moss and Porter combined !!!

how about we wait until FA starts, see who we release, see who we pick up, see who our coaches are going to be, and see how the team looks prior to the draft so we can establish our biggest needs.

Any spec at this point is purely wishful thinking. The biggest priority right now is a coach

We don't need a WR, you can get good ones in the 7th, if you play e'm. We need a STud runner SO with Bush, Adrian and Lynch we have some quality to choose from, and we need a DT or a sacking DE. More than a WR eventhough he has great speed, hand etc..it's a ball catcher. IMO there are plenty of thoose. A vallid Runner changes a D the way the stack-up or don't. If a WR is good they just play two guys on him and take him out of the game. We have decent ones is Curry, Gabriel, Morant, Madsen, Bunch and maybe Moss will come around with the right coach. We need A runner

Its our chance to draft a big game RB first time since Bo and Marcus were playing.....Im for Oakland Born Marshawn Lynch trade down to secure him let some who is drooling over Peterson or Johnson make the deal....Drop a few spots and grab a another first day pick as well.....

Peterson or Lynch. Calvin is good, but with the outing of Shell - I'll lay bets that one or both will stay depending who is chosen as HC. I just dont see the WR position taking precedent this year over RB.

Speculation and Monday morning Qb is all we have right now. Normally I would agree, but we have the top spot.

Also, not many teams have been successful with transplanted RBs. The RB position is a high turnover position because of the pounding that it takes. Realistically how many high quality durable RBs will be available. Not many to none. Most are former major injuries (A.Green) or over the hill (like Edge last year). FA QB are different than FA RB. Do we pass on a potntially great RB for years to come to get a stop gap RB like A.Green, A.Smith, etc. I say no.

Sounds like a good plan to me.

The Raiders have not even selected a Head Coach and an Offensive Co-ordinator as yet, so we have no idea what the direction for the offense will be.

We will be able to guage a lot once Free Agency starts by who the Raiders cut and trade. It should become clearer who the Raiders are tergetting once we see who stays and goes, though you never know with Al.

So you take a story out of the rumor mill in profootball talk and spread it like gospel? It is basically just another man's opinion at this point. There are just as good "articles" in our own rumor mill and draft room.

Keep in mind, this is the time of year when nobody should believe anything - good or bad - about what's being said by teams/personnel people regarding prospects. Suffice to say, I'm pretty sure Brady Quinn goes in the first round.

That's smart about dropping a few spots and maybe picking up another 2nd or 3rd rounder.. I am torn about keeping the 1st pick because we need soooo much help offensively. Tying up cap room to sign the # 1 overall pick may hurt us for years. Just like it was said earlier, we still need to wait and see who our coach is going to be, who we trade and what FA's are there for the taking. Anyone with Salary info for us???? Where are we at? If we sign FA's we need room unless these guys are on the way down. Complete overhaul....

Looking for our cap number coach?I found this on another message board. The article is only a little over a month old,so I'd bet that it's pretty accurate.

Let's see who is hired as coach first before speculating on who is going to be signed, drafted, released etc... to many putting the cart before the horse.
