Gannon interviewing for position?

I read somwhere today that Gannon may have been secretly interviewing for a position. It was on insidebayarea.com. Interesting...... Also read it may be a rumor. IABUZZ.

I hope it is TRUE.

WARNING: There is a rumor making the rounds that Rich Gannon was in Alameda recently interviewing for a position. I got a couple of e-mails on it, so I checked into it.

My information _ from someone who spoke to Gannon that very day _ was that Gannon was at home in Minnesota.

I've had the coaching conversation with Rich a few times. As a player, he laughed out loud at the very notion of working 60-plus hour weeks for what he considered minimal pay. Joked that it would be the end of his marriage and that he was looking forward to spending time with his family.

Brought it up again this year when he was doing commentary at the Steelers-Raiders game. He laughed again. Said he loved his gig at CBS and enjoyed his offseason.

If he's ever hired as an Raiders assistant, be sure to send me an e-mail reminding me how gullible I am.

just what position is gannon going for and do you think he's qualified to start coaching.

if its for a position, I can't see more than a QB coach
but if he is the QB coach
who ever our QBs are, better prepare some long long film sesssions. Gannon is a freak when it comes to preparing for games, and can't see other wise if he is a coach.

If QB Coach, he and the OC would have to work hand in hand. Can't see Gannon just sitting back and not having some input in play calling.

I think Rich will help AL any way he can but I'd be surprised if he walks away from his present job...work a couple of days a week and make more than a QB coach would, come on.
