Rex Ryan rumor....

i get the tri-valley herald and they have a rumor mill in the paper. today it said that rex ryan is prepared to leave the ravens to become the defensive coach for the raiders, so rob ryan could become the head coach.......take it for whats it worth. i dont know who sends in that info to the paper butthey have been right before. i personally would not mind this happening.

I know what you meant.
Rex leaves Baltimore to become the Raider's DC while Rob moves from the DC to the HC. Sounds like a hell of a plan to me.

Why would Rex leave a DC job on the best team in the AFC for a DC job for the worst? Makes no sense and it isn't gonna happen.

Well I may be going out on a limb here, but do you think maybe he'd leave for the opportunity to work with his brother?????????????

Of course it makes sense.

The reason it will not happen is because Rex is going to be a strong candidate for head coaching position. The Ravens are already resigned to the fact that they will probably lose him.

No chance in h@## he makes a lateral move for the same position!

it wouldnt be a lateral move in a sense, both are rumored to be very close and would love to work with one another. In order for Rex to move here he would have to be given a promotion. So, Assistant head coach DC would be an upgrade and an increase in pay. This has been a rumor for some time and makes a lot of sense. The only way he would not make the move is if he get a nod for his own HC spot. But this year there are rumored to be few HC positions available and many possible candidates with the likes of Martz, Whisenhunt, etc., plus the successful college coaches thinking about moving into the pros. There is a good chance this will actually happen if Rob Ryan is given the HC position.

Of course it makes sense.
Unless hes getting the HC job he is taking an extreme step backwards, he arguably deserves a HC job over any assistant in the NFL, why would he go from the best team, to the worst at the same position? The only way it would make sense is if Rex gets the HC nod and Rob stays at DC.

We somebody besides shell this is the sorriest team ever in the nfl. Our offence sucks and brooks is a joke. Why did shell start brooks over walter? It was another lame descisiom from art shell. I have been a fan of the raiders for 40yrs and i was so disgusted in the raiders game. We are pathetic and anyone that wants shell back needs their f...ing head examined
