Al Davis falling into a trap.

Schecter''s article (who has past ties to the Broncos) seems to be an obvious ploy, to outsmart and outmanuever Al Davis. Like a good chess move, Al Davis will be a victim of his ego and will now keep Shell another year just to spite a well timed article. Al Davis appears to being tricked into keeping a coach who has basically proved to be inept and continues to make this team a true laughing stock of the NFL for another year, even I'm sure Al's instincts tell him that a move is neccessary. Fans across the country will eventually realize how Davis was duped and through a simple article, (most likely created in some hotel bar) will be another chapter in the continued spiral to a dark hole we seem to be stuck in.

As much as people say it Al is no fool, he is not going to fire/not fire someone just to prove some nobody wrong. Wake up!! Al wants to win, that is for sure.. Some of his decisions have not been the right ones, but he is not going to do something like that just because some moron puts out a story this is the type of BS people feed off. Al will do what Al thinks is best for the Raiders..

Really? An obvious ploy? Gee I thought Schefter had solid inside info from the Raiders org.

If Al wants to fire or reasign or make Shell resign he will. Shefter will have zero influence on him.......

If Al is planning on replacing Shell, all he has to do is move Shell upstairs and he saves face. He wouldn't be firing Shell and he still can replace him as the head coach. Al is still sharp and he will find a way to slap Schefter in the face either way.

Al Davis will not care about what ****fer said when making his decision.
You can count on that.

What he should care about is the fact that we are not scoring points and you can't win in this league if you don't score points.

Al always does what he thinks is best for the Raiders. Our record the past 4 seasons has shown that what he thinks isn't always the best. Hiring Norv clearly wasn't the best move, hiring Shell clearly wasn't the best move, drafting Huff instead of Leinart or Cutler wasn't the best move, trading for Moss seemed brilliant at the time but it clearly wasn't the best move.

I am not thrilled with some of the decisions the team has made over the past few years. However, if any of these moves panned out, we would be signing Davis' praise. Hindsight is 20/20. And I find it hard to believe that Davis would consider keeping a coach to spite a Nobody talking head.

We need to do something this offseason for sure. This is 4 strait losing seasons and the 2006 team is the sorriest ever. I really as a fan think its time to go outside of the orginazation and find the right guy. Art had divided this team and it wont be much better in 2007. We might win 5 or 6 games and that is something to look forward to. I honestly think our defence is hoping that we make some big positive moves on offence. We need a overhaul and that is coaches and players. We need at least 5 to 6 new starters on offence. We could be good and be a contender if we just simply make good moves in the offseason. After 4 losing seasons i just dont know if this orginazation can make the right moves. Art might make a few moves if he remains coach but, we need to make a lot of moves to be good.

If you really want control of the team, get Madden 09 and build the franchise cuz that's as close as you'll get.
