Potential FA pick ups for the Raiders

Potential free agent pickups for the Raiders:

QB Matt Schaub, RFA, Atlanta Falcons

DL Dwight Freeney, UFA, Indianapolis Colts

DL Jared Allen, RFA, Kansas City Chiefs

WR Drew Bennett, UFA, Tennessee Titans

TE Eric Johnson, UFA, San Francisco 49ers

TE Daniel Graham, UFA, New England Patriots

OT Max Starks RFA Pittsburgh Steelers

OT/OG Leonard Davis UFA Arizona Cardinals

OT Mike Gandy, UFA, Buffalo Bills

OG Eric Steinbach, UFA, Bengals

OG Kris Dielman, UFA, San Diego

DT Hollis Thomas, UFA, New Orleans Saints

If the Raiders signed Schaub, Bennett, Davis, Steinbach and Thomas, I would consider this to be a great FA class. We would solidify the QB position, rebuild our offensive line with two quality guards, add a reliable receiver, and solidify the middle of our defensive line.

Does not look good us in free agency. Except for Deilman he is a really good, and maybe the qb from Atalanta.

I don't get why people think the Raiders have any interest or any chance with Matt Schaub.

1. He is a RFA and will probably cost a first or second round pick.
2. He will be re-signed by the Falcons who are more likely to cut Vick.

IMO, the Raiders are more likely going to try for Culpepper. He is the ideal Al Davis 'reclamation project'.

Of that list I would prefer Steinbach, Davis and Graham.

The DT can be selected in the draft.

I think we should make it a priority to go after Daniel Graham in FA, he's taken a backseat in NE because of Ben Watson. He's still young, is an outstanding blocker and makes big catches in the clutch, not to mention his experience and two Super Bowl rings. Oh and the fact that we desperately need a REAL TE plays into this decision as well

I like the Hollis Thomas suggestion he has been really impressive for the Saints this season.

I think Bennett would be a great pick up. He's had a pretty good year. Steinbech would be awesome. He's still very young and would help out our line.

I think we have more pressing needs right now than another linebacker. I would love to have Thomas, but we don't even know what we have yet with Darnell Bing, so it's almost like getting another linebacker next year since he hasn't really played yet. If all goes right, Morrison, Howard and Bing will be our starting LB's next year. Bing is similar to what the Panthers did with Thomas Davis, he was a big safety coming out of Georgia, and the Panthers turned him into a LB, now he's having a big year. I think Bing can have very similar success.

if the Ravens doesn't resign him
he will be the hottest FA in the market and there will be a huge bidding war for him. He won't be in a Raiders' uniform.. by signing him, it will completely cripple our ability to sign other positions we are in DIRE need for.

I'll second that, Graham would be a tremendous pickup
