Trade Randy Moss to Atlanta?
Moss has said he would like to play in Atlanta.

Would Al Davis let him go? Would they trade for him? What would we get in return? He's not done yet, but his attitude here stinks. I'd swop him for Atlanta's 1st, or throw in a 3rd to do the deal. |

Moss simply doesn't have much trade value at this point. That and I still believe Al is too stubborn to trade him because we gave up a top 10 pick to acquire him and it would look bad on him trading him after only 2 seasons. But we've messed up almost every football decision the past couple years so why not continue the trend?

Atlanta would be crazy to trade their best receiving target. Forget Schaub, he reminds me alot of another back-up QB that was supposed to breakout a few years back in AJ Feely. Schaub is a product of the system and even looking at his stats, they aren't that impressive. Plus, if the Falcons wouldn't part ways with him over this past offseason, what makes you think they will in the upcoming?
They need Schaub as Vick does have somewhat of an injury-riddled past taking all of those hits. If we are gonna make the deal pick up a second & third for Moss or their first. Either one is fine by me.

Before Randy Moss got traded to Oakland, he wanted to go to balt & atl. When atlanta heard this, the owner made the point very clear..He did NOT want Moss in atlanta. Now, with what's going on with Randy Moss in Oakland, and vick throwing people the bird, what in the world makes people think they would want Moss NOW??? They didnt want him when he was at his peak, do people actually think they will want him NOW, when he cant catch the ball & everyweek has had something to say about the team he currently plays for.
I just dont see it people, I just dont see where in the world people are coming up with atlanta for a possible Moss destination. Doesnt make sense!!!!!

I am the biggest fan of Moss probably on this site and take daily ridicule for it, but maybe trading him is best. I've quit defending him a long time ago as it is a losing battle, however I'm gonna make one last ditch argument in Moss' favor. Moss was a HOF WR before coming to Oakland and then once he arrived his game changed to mediocrity it seems, but it's wrong. I'll explain:
Excuse for Moss in '05 : Last season Moss opened the year with 5 receptions 130 yards and 1td then followed it up with 3 games of 127, 86, and 123 yard games respectively. Then he got injured which hampered the rest of what was to be a great year. Before that injury he had amassed 19 receptions for 466 yards and 2 TD's while averaging 25 yards per catch in only 4 games. So the excuse for Moss not being his All-Pro in '05 was clearly due to a bad injury. Excuse for Moss in '06 : The excuse he has in '06 is even better than the injury he suffered last season. The excuse this season is having to play under the system of Tom Walsh which nullified any success Moss was to have. The Tom Walsh system has not only effected Moss but the entire Offense, in fact as poor as Moss has played this season he is still our leading WR statistically speaking. This season Moss is our only starting WR to have a 100 yard game or score a TD which is pathetic. The odds for Moss succeeding as a Raider have been against him this season as he is playing with a skeleton WR core since we chose to trade Gabriel and not to play Porter hardly at all. We have had poor play at the RB position, the TE position, the QB position, and we have the worst O-line in the NFL hands down. All this and we had the worst OC in the league with Walsh until we fired him. More excuses for Moss are that since coming to Oakland in only 2 seasons he has played with 2 different HC's and 3 different OC's and most importantly 3 different starting QB's which will negatively affect any player and especially a WR who relies on chemistry. Although I cannot excuse the drops Moss has had this season I can say with all this going on around him he has to be mentally exhausted. I know for a fact Moss is still an elite WR but playing in Oakland may not be his best place to show it. What many people forget is that Moss is only 29 years old and has never been seriously injured which means he still has a few great years in the tank I deeply believe. No matter if Moss stays or goes I'm still a Raiders fan but I hate to see him get traded and prove that he is still "The Freak" to everyone. I hope he stays here for my own selfish reasons but it's best for Moss to find a team who can use him. If anyone thinks that a player can come to Oakland and have success on this Offense they are sadly mistaken! |
