If Walter is the Future...expect long term!

According to ESPN Radio Today, sorry no link. Walter in an interview said basically that if he is going to be the QB of the Future of the Raiders, he plans on staying with the Raiders the legnth of his carear. He went on to explain how he might sign a new deal with the Raiders after this season, if he is productive. He didnt mention how long, but think of it like this. He is 24 years old! QBs in this league can last until 40 or so. That gives us 16 Years with Walter at the helm of our offence. And if he turns out to be the Next Great Raider QB. Then im loving the next 16 Years! Too bad some of you wont make it that long lol j/k!

thats messed up!!!

I hope we can get some stability at the QB position. Walter looks like the real deal. Now he's gotta prove it on the field.

I really hope he gonna be good. And i hope he'll stay on this team for his entire career !

I love this guys, see him playing give me a feeling a cannot describe. I wasn't here at the helm of the raiders glory with Stable, Plunkett, Gannon etc ... but i hope Walter gonna do the job well.

GO RAIDERS !

16 is the key, I hope Art isnt stupid enough to take him out for Fumbles the Clown. I just hope Tom Walsh is gone so he doesnt kill walter.

Good read Raider5000, let's hope this comes to fruition. It would be so nice to have no QB worries for the next decade! Can you imagine how good that would feel?

But we have to protect him or he WILL NOT last...

True that. We can't let him get beat to death ala David Carr. If we want him around as long as Farve, we need to start protecting his backside...

The best thing that could happen on Sunday for the team, the organization and the FANS, would be to see Walter come out and show us he belongs and is good enough to have a team built around him. Win or lose, just show us you're the guy. We already have a young D that's well on it's way to being very good. If we can get something on offense to hang our hat on, I know I'll feel a lot better about this team and our future.

I have so much faith in Walter I would pass on Brady Quinn if we have the chance to draft him next year, and you can tell I'm a huge Quinn fan.

Quinn's going to be the next Ken Dorsey unless he ends up on a team with an already great O-Line, kind of like Rothlisberger did. Walter is better now and was better than Quinn while he was still in college. The only reason he was overlooked in the draft was because he played for a ****ty Sun Devils team. Walter has all the makings of a franchise NFL QB. All he needs now is to experience a FULL season, good or bad, that's how you become great.

I think Walter will have a Troy Aikman like career. Great stats, great leader, several Super Bowl titles, and 1st ballet hall of fame induction.

His induction speaker...Art Shell.

Walter only NEEDS one thing: a competent Oline.

And competent RB. If Walter shows flashes of greatness in the next few games (hopefully the rest of the season) then we must get a stud RB in the draft.

I think that we should get O line help through free agency because we obviously can't project college O linemen's talent very well.

Walter can pick a defense apart if he has protection and doesn't require him to do a 400mm dash taking 7-9 step drop back passes
