funny you post this. I have that feeling deep inside too. Hes really being cool about it concidering. Think about it, how Randy Moss was before he came to Oakland. Yeah he did have over 1000 yards last year but it was still one of his worst seasons as a pro even in that category. I wish we could show the rest of the league he is still the most feared receiver, but we cant. I really like Moss and like him on the Raiders but if we struggle all season I cant blame him for wanting out. After all he is in his 9th season. He still has a chance to go down as one of the best but he needs to be on a good team.

Franchise him. If he really wants out, he still has solid trade value.

We should trade him before his contract is up. Give him to an NFC team where he can do his thing and get some draft picks...

I aqree. I think it was code707 who started a thread a little while back about trading Moss, and I'm starting to think that it might be the best thing for this franchise long term. We have many holes on our roster and we could use what we get in exchange for Moss to round out our talent. What's the point in having the most dynamic receiver in the game when there's a lack of talent around him? It would be different if it were a franchise type QB, but a franchise type WR isn't worth much when you're lacking the talent at the "meat and potato" positions, i.e. Dline, Oline.

If Al Davis gives up his only tried and true Superstar, the entire fanbase, mostly, would turn on him. Randy Moss draws crowds and money, even if he isn't getting the ball. He's a threat on the field, even if he's injured. I agree that he won't stay, but I don't think we will trade him before his contract.

If you really want control of the team, get Madden 09 and build the franchise cuz that's as close as you'll get.

I fear that as well. I am hoping we turn this thing around this season and start putting up some impressive numbers. We'll see what happens with Moss..

If the team (and coaching) doesn't improve considerably in the next several games, trading him is the smart thing to do. It help us continue our rebuild.

We have a lot of good young talent whether it shows yet or not. It will eventually if the rest of the components of the team get up to speed or are replaced if need be. (Ex.- Walsh) We need to keep bringing it in and hope the coaching gets to where we can do something with the talent we have.

A lot of people seem to think we're the 1989 Cowboys and that we need a plethora of draft picks to rebuild.

But look at the team. Offensively, it has the potential top be explosive. The things that are holding it back:

-An ancient offensive coordinator
-An offensive line softer than cabbage patch kids
-A questionable quarterback, who hasn't even had the chance to prove himself.

For that, all you need to do is dump the coach, retool the line, which you can do in free agency, and get the QB. You don't need a ton of picks for that.

Now look at the defense. What are the questions:

A big defensive tackle to play alongside Sapp. Off the record, why the hell didn't we go after Sam Adams???

A young, inexperience but FAST LB corp.
An improving secondary.

Our defense is not so bad that it will lose every game. A veteran safety would do it some good, as we did when we signed Rod Woodson. And if we have a pass rush, our DBs won't be over exposed. But still, you don't need a ton of picks for that. Not even more than 3. And, you don't need them in the 1st round, either.

Quality, not quantity. The braintrust needs to realize what a football player is and not draft a fast guy who just so happens to play football.

People say we're the worst team in football. That is misinterpreted. We're the worse COACHED and LED football team. For every person that says we're awful, another 2 say we have the talent. The 1989 Cowboys had no talent, thus no chance. We don't need to rebuild as such.

You see, a great team enhances it's strengths to minimize it's weaknesses, not the other way around. Our strength is our offense, but our weakness is the offensive line. To minimize the weakness, you don't FORCE them to block for 7 step drops when they can barely do it for 3. That leads to 900 sacks a game. Watching that San Diego game was like watching Bill Gates playing Chess with a sock puppet.

The body ain't moving right because the brain is giving it the wrong signals. Fix the brain (bye Mr. Walsh) and the body will be fine.

would u walk away from 10mil per? I dont think so and I dont think Randy will either, he gets to be himself here and I think that will make a diffrence. OF course our team changing things this year and then winning the afc west next year is going to help too.
