Justin Gatlin

With Al Davis' love of Track and Field sprinting stars, I'm surprised that I haven't heard anything about Justin Gatlin. For those of you that don't know, he was widely considered the fastest man on the planet until he recently failed some drug tests and has been banned from track and field for 8 years. He won the gold medal at the last Olympics in '04 in Athens. His agent is none other than Renaldo Nehemiah who some of you may remember as a wide receiver for the 49ers after he was a world class hurdler.

Just a thought. Maybe for next year.

I say let him come to camp next year. Hell we should have open tryouts.

Interesting thought -- not sure how Alvis Whitted would feel about it though...

His name has been forever tainted because of artificial enhancers. I wouldn't touch it.

Not even worth consideration

Plus i doubt he can catch a ball..or take a hit

Carlos Francis is fast...That doesnt make him a good Pro WR

That's just it -- Francis actually is good, he just can't stay healthy to save his life.

NAH, next year we will only need to deepen our RB depth, DT position, OL, and LB.. Maybe a QB

I would not be surprised if we gave him a try. When I heard he was thinking about football, I knew it was a possibility, and we all know Al loves speed, I dont think Gaitlin has "football speed" though.

Justin Gatlin is not a small guy. I'm sure he could excel at WR or KR in football.

Also, there's a big difference between Carlos Francis speed and world record in the 100 m dash speed.

He has accepted his penalty only because the other option was a lifetime ban. He has not admitted to knowingly taking anything. His belief is that he was given the steroids through a massage cream to his legs out of spite.

Please don't tell me that you have an Alzado jersey in your closet.

So called 'Athlete-first' prospects coming out of college fail in the NFL as they lack football instincts/intangibles... They've been playing college ball for three years! Gatlin has the speed, but will lack the quickness (which comes from good decision making and experience)...

In reality, it's not going to happen...

Just because a guy can run REALLY fast doesn't mean he knows how to catch a football.
