Porter close to being cut?

I can tell that when you have a player playing the 3rd & 4th quarter of a 5th and final preseason game that the certain player is on the hot seat. It really left me wondering if Art has Jerry on the brink of a chopping block. Any possibilities that this would be true?

Well why else would he be playing with the undrafted free agent all star team in the 2nd half? If we didn't have major thoughts about cutting him we wouldn't have him playing to prove himself like that so late in the preseason.

Porter was still playing because he has missed practice and missed some game time due to injury, he's just getting up to speed. And we'd take a HUGE cap hit if we cut him, not gonna happen.

he played that much because we had him on "display" for a possible trade. I am sure Al was hoping he would make a big play or 2 to give one of the many receiver-desperate-teams in the league one last look at what they could have for the right price....but i agree with whoever it was above that said there is no way we'd cut him for nothing, and risk allowing a division rival to pick him up. Especially since if we are that desperate to get rid of him, we COULD trade him for a 5th or a 6th, or a conditional pick, or even an "undisclosed" pick like Hamilton was today...but no way do we let him walk with absolutely nothing.
