new info on Jerry Porter

not stating my source........cuz that will give it away and judging by how some people on this board act around players, it would be bad if he found out who was telling me stuff about him............

anyways......

the team and porter are in a much different light than the media is portraying. while porter asked for a trade initially, the high demand for him made him realize that the team does want him here and values him.
-since then he has worked extremely hard in camp. the calf injury was real but not bad enough to hold him out of a season game. he was out as a precaution. teammates where mad at him initially and he felt that he had no need to explain himself to them. he still won't. the team is figuring it out though from seeing his work ethic and how hard he is practicing.

---the team IS COOL WITH HIM. they made a truce. all he had to do was take the shirt off at the end of camp and never where it again. he agreed. sapp tore it when he took it off........just to make sure its not back. porter claims it wasn't directed towards the team, but towards the media for blowing up his situation and causing a lot of people to be angry with him when it wasn't called for.

--the only thing he is upset with right now is that the media has caused his fans to turn on him. he feels he has something to proove.....similar to his first season with KC throwing him the ball when he was playing for a contract. now he feels that he is playing to make the ones that hate him love him.

-also as for teams that were interested in him.....they didn't want to give up a first rounder. some even offered a 3rd (Denver). Porter never liked the Broncos and watch for him to play his ass off against them.

yea........but trust me, after this season, as long as Brooks continues to play well, Porter will look really good. He is in the best shape of his career and has been wanting to make a name for himself for a long time. After the fans see what he does on the field this year, they will love him again.

Thanks for the info. and it sort of figures the way Raiders have treated him. Porter has to work his way back and he will be a better person for it. Bottom line, every Raider fan understands that we are a better team with Jerry Porter not without him but the team always comes first. Also, I am assuming that Porter now understands that Art Shell is the leader of the team and the days of free-lancing are over.

I dont know how valid this info is, but trusting my hunches...I think this is legit. Thanx for the info UNSTOPPABLE, and reps to you on this information. Dont worry about giving your source, as long as it is legit, shouldnt be a concern around here.


This is the first REAL POSITIVE info that has come out on porter. If this is true, this is wonderful information. I hope porter does get his act together, and this could be the catalyst to propel him to hit the potential that he's got. Maybe Coach Shell has already proven himself to porter. In a number of different ways, this info is GREAT NEWS!!! I'm happy and excited for Jerry Porter if this is true. Good he has what he needs (something to prove), the talent & desire to do so will also effect him positively.

This is good, this is real good. I have never disliked Jerry Porter on the playing field, just his ATTITUDE. If he gets that in check, The Sky is the Limit for this kid. I'm really proud of him if this is a valid story.

I believe that when he plays he'll look good. Have you seen that picture of him wearing that dollar belt. The guy is in incredible shape. Almost reminded me of t.o. the way he was looking. Hopefully he plays like that too.

I think jp was really just testing art and see if he is another push over which he is not.I really think alot of the problems were caused by this media we hate so much.
