He also said that everyone is very high on Tommy Kelly and expect some good things out of him very soon. They said expect to see some more playing time from the Defensive 1st team in this weeks game.

Also mentioned PORTER will most lekely be taking his snaps with the 2nd team. Raiders in no rush to trade him, unless a 1st rounder is offered out of DIRE need from a team like the Eagles, or Vikings. May just play him this year sparingly and see if he voids next year of his contract.

Of course, depending on how they do this week.
This could be a jab at Brooks to get him going. Normally, the next to last game is the big tune-up for the season opener.
The last game is usually just a walk-thru andtry not to get hurt.

I'm all for seeing how Walter does with the first string. I'm rooting for him, but I doubt we'll get what we want from him in just one game. A rook is a rook.

i hope to see our 1st units out there for the entire 1st half if possible. we really need to start getting ready, see exactly what we have, and make any adjustments necessary. i belive other teams already started to give their started extended playin time in last nights games

I dont like this at all. Walter starting in the 4th preseason game. WTF? What if Brooks does good this Sunday? What if Walter sucks when he starts which means we only have one more game to figure out a starter? Does anyone understand what I mean?

Yep. If Walter looks bad vs the Lions (who looks bad vs the lions?), then Brooks would only get a series against the Seattle starters.

Doesnt' make sense.

I am kind of dissappointed that Walter will not be starting against the 49ners, its seems like such a perfect opportunity to go head to head with Smith, plus after that nice bomb to Morant I just bet he is just roaring to go plus make up for the two interceptions. Only thing I can think of not playing him first is O line still needing work and they are afraid for him and want Brooks to take the knocks.

I would like to see both Walter and Tui get starts in the preseason and have a chance to work with the first team units.

Isn't that what the preseason is for, to put players in different positions and challenge them and see how they respond?
