Question would you want steve mcnair?

i know that our team has brooks but with mcnair we would really have a chance to get into the playoffs. i think brooks will be cool but he is no steve.

i think it would take a lot but davis could do it.

what do you guys think?

McNair is in the declining side of his career. Hes short and is more of a WCO qb.
Brooks could have the same success with our players IMO.

McNair wants a boatload of money we don't have this kind of money
Quote:
McNair has a $23.4 million cap number and the Titans are worried about McNair getting hurt and still being liable for that cap number.

McNair is planning on returning to the Titans this week to find out what will happen with his future. The Titans have him under contract this season for $9 million, but he found out in trade discussion with the Ravens in April that he could make $12 million in Baltimore.
Second McNair is contantly injured and is probably at the end of his career more than the beginning.

Could care less if Mcnair is injured a lot, hes managed to stay healthy alot too

and when healthy he wins games, so I would take him if we didnt already spend a boatload on other QB options, cuz we dont have a set offense so I Dont see how his arm strength could effect anything.. fact is Mcnairs a great QB and I would want him behind center more then Brooks, Walters, or Tui.. but I dont think we should pursuit him at this time.

It's a simple matter of too late - we got Brooks. And Walter. And Tui. I like our QB corp, I think it's going to take us to the Mountain top, and it's a matter of seeing the promised land.

I'm a Steve McNair fan. I bet if you go up to the average Joe and ask them to name a Tennessee Titan, 9 out of 10 will come back "Steve McNair". He's been the face of that franchise since they changed from the Oilers to the Titans.

If this was the start of free agency, I would want McNair before Brooks. He would be a better mentor in my view for Walter. Also, like others have said, he would probably win more games as a starter than Brooks would (obviously we will never know, but that is what I would predict).

But with Brooks and Walter, McNair really isn't needed. Getting McNair would pretty much mean we wasted money on Brooks, as he would barely see the field (and what's the point of having Brooks as your second stringer when he is only signed for two years?)

Guys, we need to bring in a good backup and shove Tuiasosopo out the door, if McNair is it, then so it be.

I believe Steve McNair is past his prime - he's too injury prone but he was at one time the QB to beat.
