Porter to Jags

This is purely speculative but, with Jimmy Smith's announcement of his pending retirement, the Jags will probably have their ears and eyes open to the prospect of a quality WR.

Porter is a quality WR. It's a matter of what would we want. I'm a fan of Greg Jones. There's this high-light vid somewhere of him bowling over a guy as a RB at Florida....whichever Florida school he went too (I think Florida St.). He's young but, a second stringer with the Jags. However, what's-his-name, their starting RB is getting long-in-the-tooth so, this could be Jones' year with the Jags. The other thing is, Jones would be more-of-the-same with us, he's pretty much just like Lamont - maybe more powerful.

Who the Jags got that we could use in a trade for Porter?

I like the idea of trading JP to the Jags, but how much more would it take to get Marcus Stroud instead?

The Jags wont look for a WR they drafted 2 WR's in the first round in 2 years and they got 3 solid WR's so the chances they trade for another WR is dout full......

i like greg too but not for porter. i think a defensive player is the only way to go. they do have a backup qb that is pretty good. David Garrard.

i would guess that they really like who they have at the moment and are willing to wait for the roster cuts and swoop down on a 3rd option type wide player. they have a lot of talent at the WR position as of right now.

Yep, I was going to say that.

If it is true, a Porter/Matt Jones tandem is scary.

I say we keep Porter. From what I've seen at Mini Camp regarding Porter's intense workouts and route running, he and Moss on the same field would be an utter nightmare for opposing defensive coordinators.

If he is alright with staying here, I would agree.. he only has 1 year left, so if he wants out, he will want to shine to get other team intrested in him....

not a whole lot of trade value left, now that draft is over.

i would like to see him here but if we are going to lose him why not trade him this or next season. i love the porter/moss duo but if it doesnt pan out in two years (last and this year) i say why not look for a trade.

yea I definitely agree, but with the Raiders adding 'alot' of WR's including Madsen to training camp, something is going on.

Perhaps Whitted and Curry (if he doesn't recover) are both headed out the door?
