sounds good, however i dont know a lot about Jones is he a quicker type back? i dont want a lamont clone.
I still dont like the whole get rid of porter this year simply for the fact it does nothing to help the cap. and in this scenerio we would take the hit for porter then have to pay for Jones. need more info! lol

That would be a great swap. T. Jones was great last year even when he was injured. He does not have the size to be an everydown guy but he would be a great compliment to LJ

He's not a LJ clone. He is stout but has a quick burst. He is a good compliment to LJ. But I wouldn't want to do it when we can just bring in a RB like James Mungro and James Jackson without trading away one of our solid starters for a backup. A starter for a backup no dice.

Whats up with all the Porter haters? Porter stays. Jones is good but not even close to value for Porter. Dont like the trade. Trading Sims on the other hand...

Sims for Thomas Jones I could live with.
Porter for Jones is not getting MAX value IMO. Al Davis rarely does a trade in which he doesn't maximize!

Part of it is that Porter has indicated many times that he doesn't want to be here.
Another part of it is the fact that WR is a position we can afford to deal down from; giving up Sims, not so much, we're still really thin on the OL. In a vacumm, Porter is worth more than Jones, but other things have to be taken into account - and I do agree with LJ34 in that Jones is vastly underrated. |
