Trent Dilfer

So i heard on NFL total access this mornin that dilfer is wanting out of cleveland, and wantin to go to san francisco. Has anyone else heard this? And if this did happen, i hate to admit it, but it would be a good move on the 49er's part. Its not like dilfer will turn that whole place around, but it would definitely be good mentoring for alex smith. Not to mention hes already familiar with nolan and his style of coaching. Im interested to see what ahppens with this.

Backup RB? Although if Stephen Davis is healthy, he'd be a nice addition!

I still can't believe the Hawks got a 4th rounder from Cleveland last year for Dilfer. Supposedly the 9ers offered their divisional rivals a 6th last year for him. If Cleveland can get a 5th or 6th from the 9ers for Dilfer I can see them offering that pick to us for Tui.

Tui's worth a 4th because of his age.

Not really. Pat Ramsey is the same age and has done more in the league then Tui and he went for a 6th.

What we can get for Tui will depend on who wants him and how bad. We should be able to get more for Tui since teams are apporaching us rather than putting Tui on the market. We are in the driver's seat, so I would not be surprised to get a 4th for Tui.

If we were to put him on the market the price probably will drop to a 6th.

i think it's a smart move for Dilfer to goto SF also.IF Smith doesn't pan, he can step in & get a chance to start.Dilfer is going to be that household name nor will he be an all world league guy. What he can & will do is play smart. He won't cost you a game & makes pretty good decesions.Look at when he was w/ the Ravens.

I say we trade him off for a 4th rounder or almost anything because one thing for sure is that he has not done much if anything for the raiders then serve as an illegitimate backup. by syaing this, i mean no offense to him because he is a young player who definitely can improve. but at this time with the 13-35 or w/e record the raiders compiled after their super bowl loss back in 2002, it is definitely time for a new revitalized team. walter and brooks should do the job, and one more QB maybe acquired in the next offseason would be swell too.
