Possible Trade: Oakland/Houston
This is a made-up trade so not sure if it should go in rumor or not.
LT Barry Sims for DT Seth Payne Why Oakland does this? gets rid of Sims and gets Gallery into the LT spot. Fills a need with a Nose Tackle Oakland OL Gallery/Hulsey/Grove/Walker or ??/Slaughter or Walker Treu/Garmon/Boothe/McQuistan/Morris as Backups Oakland DL Burgess/Payne/Sapp/Kelly Brayton/Johnstone/Sands/Hawthorne as Backups Hamiliton is a possible June 1st cut. Why houston does this? Gives them a stopgap at LT for Spencer to get adjusted to LT if he's gonna play there, or they can just plug him in RG Houston OL Sims/Chester/McKinney/Spencer/Winston with Wand/Weary/Wiegert as backups/releases. Houston DL Babin/T.Johnson/R.Smith/Williams Peek/DeLoach as backups

Oh, and Payne leaving...why? When he can play within that 4-3 IMO.

I find it hilarious that we kill and dog a guy like B.Sims, who has been a factor and still is a serviceable player on our team...yet, alot of us praise a guy like A.Brooks who has been horrid when it counts, and has a far worse image as a player and a pro...

If anything, Sims barely holds because he doesn't want to get called.
Barry Sims, holding penalties. 2005 - 1 2004 - 0 2003 - 2 2002 - 0 2001 - 0 2000 - 1 1999 - 1 I'd rather he had done sometimes and not allowed the sack. 1st and 20 is better in my opinion than 2nd and 18.

It's already been posted that Sims is moving to LG and Gallery to LT. The left portion of our line is solid with the two previously mentioned and Grove. Our weakness is the right side. Hopefully we addressed that in the draft and free agency.

Barry Simms has been a very solid player for us, but he took a major step backward last year. He needs to be moved to guard, or traded or released.

That would be a decent trade for us. One problem I think Sims cap hit would be about 3 Million if we traded him.
