Porter to join Woodson????

Well guys, I'm no insider, however I do have a source who is very close to Gannon. And according to this guy Rich has said he's been contacted at length by Mike McCarthy to discuss Jerry Porter. This guy went on to tell me that according to what he's been told all signs are pointing towards a trade between the Raiders and Packers that would involve Javon Walker and Jerry Porter. This source is a guy who hangs out with and has an occasional beer with Gannon. My connection to him is he works in my Dad's office in Minnesota. Take it for what it's worth, and if nothing else it makes for fun discussion!!!!

There's fear that he won't be ready for the start of training camp so I guess as of right now he's not 100%.

I'm sure hoping for something closer to this scenario. We don't need Walker in return for Porter. That's the one position that we're ok at even without Porter.

That would be horrible. Porter is a big time player and Ronald Curry is injury prone. Javon Walker is good but he will not be 100%. The only way that would be a good pick, if it involves a draft pick .

I would do #7 and Porter for Walker and #5. That would guarantee Hawk would be there and that would be perfect. I think Walker would compliment Moss better because everyone knows that Walker is a deep threat as is Moss and having Gabriel coming over the middle could make a very scary offense.

I love it. Walker is still young and can bounce back from this injury. They both want out of their organizations which as we seen several times be detrimental to the team.

Porter still has not reached his full potential we just seen glimpses of it here and there and Walker for one whole season showed he had harnassed his potential and showed what he can do.

Remember when steve smith got injured at the beginning of the season and the next year he came back full strength. It's been shown that it can be done so I would do the trade in a heartbeat. Even if he can not comeback until a couple games into the season it should not bother us because like many of you have said we have Gabriel, Curry, and Morant. Bottomline I'd rather get a guy that has proven he can be a threat then a guy who has not. But is just living off a couple big games he had.
