Raiders scouts trying to talk Al Davis out of trading up
Per ESPN nfl draft podcast with the guys from Scouts INC (Jeremy Green, Todd Mcshay). They say there is a lot of buzz about he Raiders trading up for Vince Young. They also say that the scouting department is lobbying hard against such a move. In the mock they do on the podcast, they have Young available at no.7 and the Raiders taking him.
I don't think Young would be terrible at no.7, but he does scare me, and trading up for him would be horrible. Again, this is just a rumor from one of the bigger sites out there, but but both Green and McShay have great sources. |

Thw scouts on the Raiders are doing there homework. If Vince Young was so legit, like a lot of people on this board are saying then trading up to get "the greatest" player ever, is a no brainer. I couls only hope and wish theat a team in our division takes Vince Young so we can play him twice a year.

That doesn't bode well.......But if we trade up and Houston selects Williams first overal...we would be taking Bush i think....

I agree with Bill in believing that the only player the Raiders would trade up for is Leinart. The only problem is that it still seems that the Titans are unsure of who they will draft.
I don't believe that the Raiders need either Leinart or Young that badly. I hope the Raiders stay at #7 and see who is on the board, field trade offers from other teams, and then decide which way to go. There will certainly be a number of teams willing to trade up if the likes of Young or Davis are still on the board. The Raiders could score well by trading, IMO. |

If the Raiders do not trade with the Titans then we know they do not want Leinart. Then, come pick #7 life may get interesting...... |

Some dude (I think it was Vito Cook - forgive me, I don't know much about college football, but apparently the guy's well known) said that he's absolutely sure that the Titans will draft Young at #3. His reasoning was based upon Titans owner Bud Adams wanting to stick it to Houston 2x a year, the city he pulled his Oilers out of. That, and Young of course has tremendous potential.

Geez! Unreal has it's gonna have to take the freakin scouts to convince the Old Man not to trade up? The Old Man can't see that it's not worth giving up half the farm for a QB who might fall to us anyway? Plus if VY does fall even to 5 or 6....then we can try and move up to secure with Green Bay or the Niners...because I'm sure they will be taking calls from teams who want to trade up for VY. It's too much of a risk and gamble to trade up for an unknown commodity when we have some many holes on defense and needs on the OL. This draft is too deep to freakin give up the important picks in the draft for a guy who might fall to us anyway.
