Ray Lewis Wants Out?

Quote:
According to a Ravens source, Ray Lewis or a representative called team officials 20 minutes before Wednesday's news conference about the draft and asked to be traded.

Not sure if it's been posted before, but, this could get very interesting.

yup, i posted a thread about his interview on espn just a couple days ago, where HE DID say that it isn't about his loyalty with the Ravens, it's about where the team is HEADED on defense.

he's tired of bringing in and then shipping out players, and then all the moves and lack of talent at the DT position.

the guy practically has to do EVERYTHING and it's really taking a toll on his body. he needs to be put back in a defense that is committed and not looking to make changes every single season.

HOT DAMN, I'D LUV TA SEE RAY RAY IN THE SILVER & BLACK. it would seriously be one hell of a sight to see.

Because he wants more money now than he did when he was the best and could stay healthy.

And the Ravens are ready to get rid of him because he's become a distraction to the team in his efforts to get it.

why would we pay him alot if he wants out of Ravens. " He wants out" is our gambit. We can use this to get more not less at the end. Al won't pay top $$$ on Ray.

I believe one of the biggest reasons he want out is because the Ravens won't redo his recently signed contract. He feels he deserves yet another big signing bonus even though the last one was 'barely' dry. (I think it was a few years ago)

Don't kid yourself, changing teams won't change his feeling he deserves this. Part of the reason we have some of our problems is because in the past, we would outbid everyone else for guys past their prime. People bitch about the teams lack of success all the time, but then want the team to repeat past mistakes that helped put us in that position.

I live in Baltimore and real reason he wants out is because the Ravens won't redo his deal that he just got a couple years ago that included a 19 million dollar signing bonus. Which still makes him one of the highest paid defensive players in the game and also pays him 5.5 million this year. The rumblings in Baltimore is that Ray is having money problems.

Ray also has become unliked in the Ravens looker room and players on the team say he has become hard to deal with and gets special treatment. All year he sat on the side lines like a loner away from his teammates and basically won't lead the team anymore without a new deal. I saw first hand him sitting away from his team mates on the side line in quite a few games.

Ray's whole complaint is he doesn't want to have to take on blockers he wants big guys in front of him like the Goose and Sam Adams That will allow him to not be hit and run side line to side line like when he was dominant. He also wants to be in a 4-3 defense not a 3-4 like the Ravens have been running. Look at the team around Ray on defense and he is bitching (McCallister, Suggs, Reed, Rolle, Thomas, Pryce, etc) not too bad by most standards. If we were to pick him up do you think he would really be happy with our DT's?

Ray also has been hurt 2 of the last 3 years. With us having 1.4 million under the cap we would have to release players and redo a deal that I don't know if Ray would want to accept.

Also, another thing to consider is that Brian Billick, The Ravens organization and Ravens fans have been very supportive of Ray Lewis even during his murder trail with Billick and the Front office personnel at his trail and he has basically stabbed them in the back no pun intended. Like I said I live in Baltimore and this statement about the support is very very true. The Ravens allow Ray to be introduced and do his dance before games and get all kinds of exposure.

He didn't say he wanted to be traded.

I saw the interview with Lewis yesterday. I kind of lost respect for him. He said when he was a star the defensive line wouldn't let anyone touch him. That's when he's at his best. Well, that's when ANY LB is at his best.

Lewis also said he want's to stay in Baltimore and that this is his home. He said though business in business and if they dont' want him around to let him go to someone that does. He didn't say he wanted to be traded.

Trust me Ray wants to be traded I live in Baltimore and Ozzy Newsome has said Ray asked to be traded last year after they told him they wouldn't restructure.

The whole problem is Ray wants his cake and eat it too. He is talking out of both sides of his mouth. He wants a new contract and better D lineman in front of him so he doesn't have to get hit. Which one is it? If they pay him more money where are they getting money for these stud players. Also, by saying what he said he basically just downed the teammates playing in front of him on the field what a leader.

He is like Woodson the last few years. Declining, Greedy and never on the field due to injury.
