Darnell Bing

I heard on ESPN this mornig that the Raiders will look to grab Bing in the 2nd, they are secretly sending some guys down to L.A to meet with him and for a workout.. they said if they get him he will be a S/LB

I originally liked drafting Bing if he was around in the 2nd.
But i read that he really benefitted from the defensive front 7. This reminded me of D. Gibson, and i shuddered.

But then again, Bush and Leinart benefitted from each other, and their O-line.
So, maybe he's a good pickup.

I wouldnt mind this pick actually.

There will be better safties in the second that will be available when the Raiders pick. If he's there in the third it might be worth it.

USC's front 7 were'nt that good last year; Bing is a stud

Bing is big, fast and a playmaker. People forget that USC lost a lot of their defense to the draft and underclassmen entering the draft so they were'nt that good last year.

Fresno St. demolished USC's defense, and Notre Dame scored 31, ASU 28, etc... USC had a terrible pass rush last year. They also had very poor cornerback play and Bing was like on an island.

I think Bing is going to be better than Huff. Texas front 7 were pretty good last year.

Bing would be a fantastic pick; USC has him listed at 6'3" (he's really 6'2") and 220 lb. and very fast.

Before Bing came to USC, he always wore#20 and Mike Garrett; the great RB offered his number to him which was retired. Bing is a stud and many insiders love his size, speed and great playmaking skills.

Bing is a flat out stud , I watched him play his entire career , he won't be on the board when we pick in the 2nd round i'm afraid...If he is it's a no brainer pick...

I really wish there was something I could do on a day-to-day basis to help that situation out." -Tim Brown

Funny, I think the Raiders will draft Huff and move Gibson to LB this year...

I personally would love it if AJ Hawk fell to us at #7 and we picked up Bing in the 2nd, but I have a feeling he may be gone by then. Don't rule out Davis trading a wide receiver to move up in the late 1st round and grab him like he did with Fabian last year.

I also hear the Raiders are interested in the QB from Oregon. He now look like an early 2nd rounder. I think the Donks will try to grab him with one of their two 2nd rounders.

I would be ecstatic if we were able to pick up a late 1st rounder.

If we need a LB draft a LB! Ryan is getting to smart for his self. Draft what you need and plug them in. OJT does not work in the NFL.

Damn I would love to get Hawk in the 1st & Bing in the 2nd that would really improve our defense!

Bing plays in exact same defense as the Bucs. Hell, why do think we take USC's coaches from their defense every year????? The front 7's speed is the cog that spins the cover 2's effectiveness. The problem with Raiders is the slow pash rush your guys provide. You get little sacks in your division for a reason. You think Ronde and BK would dominate with your front 7 (lol). Bing would have to learn your scheme first. I would pick Bing in the 2nd or 3rd rather than wasting a 7 pick on a guy like Huff (who Larry and LT isn't afraid of).

Raiders need to put KC, Denver, and the Bolts in passing 3rd down situations... Only then will you get sacks and picks on a regular basis. In other words, the Raiders need to get the front four playing like men (or draft some men). Bing could help stop the run contributing to passing third downs situations... then Bing can drop back and play the pass. Huff cant put teams in passing situations cause he can't hit Larry, Lt the whole game without getting ran over.

Bing worked out for the Raiders last Saturday. This is straight from his "draft diary" that he's writing for a pay draft site.
