Kyle Turley

Turley was on the radio this morning in San Diego discussing his situation with Mike Martz. He also said that he has been working out for the past two years and is ready to make a comeback. He feels great physically and is approaching 290, which he feels is his ideal playing wait. The DJ was speculating what teams he would be a good fit on. Turley mentioned The Cowboys were his team growing up. Then they went through a list of teams: Niners, Chargers, etc. Of course, no one wanted to mention it, but the last team mentioned was the Raiders. Turley said, "...well I do want to keep it west coast, I've always said that." It seemed like he discretely said "if the Raiders would invite me in I would like to give it a shot." Does he deserve a shot?

That last part.. "I would give it a shot" seems to me more like he wants to stay on the west coast but he doesnt really want to come here unless its a last choice. I think he is a beast when he has been healthy and I wouldnt mind him on the oppisite side of Gallery cause the guy plays with a mean streak that fits us perfectly. However if he isnt wanting to come here then

I'd give him a tryout...but he'd be guaranteed nothing.

The guy is an asshole with an attitude. That said, if he can return to form on the offensive line, I'd give him a shot.

My bet, is he never starts on the offensive line again.

For any MAN who is out of football, to say "I'd give it a shot" is a MAN who doesn't deserve to be in Football.

Why is Kyle out to begin with? Didn't he have a potentially serious condition or something that could be aggravated by playing? Otherwise, seeing a healthy Turley under Art's system would be a good thing - the key being "healthy". I harp on getting behind the Art-Cart and helping push. I'm preparing for a team that cuts down on pre-snap penalties but, there might be a slight increase in personal foul penalties. Somehow, that makes me sense that a healthy Kyle Turley would be good here.

Does not hurt to give him a look. We need a RT, if he pans out great, if not then we don't lose anything.

some people think that gallery is too soft to play tackle and kyles was too agressive to a point he was an a-hole, make up your mind people.

its san diego radio station of coarse he is not going to say he like to play for a rival team, I would welcome him but he had (OR STILL DOES) a bad back thats why he was FORCED to retire, if it was just he Mike martz incident he would of gone to another team. just like gannon I like to have him back but I dont think they should risk a more serious injury.

He has chronic health problems that aren't going to get better. I would give him a look but he also has been out of football for 2 years. I'd offer him the minimum.

if he is an "asshole" sounds like he'd fit our team nicely.

Yeah, I'd give Turley a try out.Hell, he has the Raider mentality.I remember one game where his QB took a late shot & he ran over to the LB that delivered the late hit, grabbed the guy, & then ripped his helmet clean off his head.then he opted to throw it across the filed.Of course, he was ejected from the game BUT just knowing you had a guy on the OL that had the police saying. To serve & protect.I like that idea....
