Bush violates NCAA?

Apparently, USC is under investigation for violating NCAA rules. Stu Jackson reported that the NCAA is looking into housing provided to Reggie's immediate family by someone connected to a Sports firm, in hopes of landing Reggie as a client. Reggie would be clear but, USC could be punished. We'll see. FYI

I heard just the opposite. USC is off the hook, but Bush and the agent could be disciplined.

Days before Bush is expected to be the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft, unanswered questions about the residence and how his mother, stepfather and brother came to live in it within the last year have prompted the University of Southern California to refer the matter to the Pacific-10 Conference for an investigation.

NCAA statutes prohibit student-athletes or their families from receiving extra benefits from professional sports agents, marketing companies or their representatives. A breach of these statutes could result in an athlete being ruled ineligible, and games in which they played could be forfeited.

This won't really "hurt" Bush because he is already going to the NFL. The only way he would be "ineligible" is if he intended to stay at USC. Some of his college records might get erased but this has no affect on his draft status in the NFL.

USC should be put on probation. The used an ineligble player and his heisman may be taken back.

Yes, this is how I understand it also. Unless, USC initiates litigation against Bush for tuition or something, Reggie is out of it - he's going to the pros. USC however, could be faced with sanctions including, things like forfeiting all their wins in which Reggie participated. The way I understand it, those National Championships would disappear. Right now, there's proof of nothing but, the timing is good to make a lot of news. Too me, it's what this story is all about - making a lot of news.

I don't know if anybody is watching but, Trey Wingo is grilling him really good about this subject. Bush insists that everything is legit. He's "absolutely 100% not concerned" that any findings will jeopardize his games at USC. Props to Trey for laying the questions out. Bush doesn't go into any details.
