Because we would take a huge cap hit if we traded Porter, not to mention he is not worth a 2nd round pick. My avatar aside, he is horribly inconsistent, and draft choices are too valuable to part with, especially 1st and 2nd rounders.

listen the way things have gone the past few years i wouldnt be surprised by anything to be honest but one things for sure our cap is lacking in any room to move we need to restructure some more contracts and do some other things to make way for rookie contracts. Needless to say the 7 pick is going to be expensive, we would be best suited trading down to either where arizona is or st louis or baltimore all in the same region and get good value and we would also be better off unloading porter to the jets for their 29 pick in their first round. The jets need a ton of help and they need help on offense very badly, porter is a proven receiver and is behind moss so he cant be a true #1 not to mention when moss was out he didnt step up too much. If we can pull this off on draft day or a few before it we would be in superb shape. we would have 2 firsts and 2 seconds and not too mention we could pick up sims/greenway/ryans at olb in the first as well as justice/bunkley for one of the lines then we could pick up simpson/bing/whitner at safety in the second as well as an og in the second. We would be robbing people if we could pull this off and i dont see why we cant

Seems to me that there's a lot more juice to the Ravens trading down rather than up. That they'd like Ngata if he's there, but want to back out if he's not.
