Vikes Interested in Schaub.....Still.

Word in Atlanta is that the Falcons are holding out for a first-round draft pick for backup quarterback Matt Schaub, whom the Vikings would like. It wouldn't be surprising if the Vikings offer one of their second-round picks for Schaub, 24, or offer their first-round pick in the 2007 draft.

I think in my mind that Schaub is worth a lot. He has proven to be a great quarterback and many people think he is better than the 3 top QB in the draft and I do too.

Disagree, on both comments. I don't think Schaub has proved to be a great anything, yet. He hasn't set the league on fire when filling in for Vick. This is what I call the AJ Feeley syndrome. A backup steps in makes a few decent plays and now he's great, no! He has a ways to go, IMO.

Who said he's better then the top 3? If that was the case, why not pony up a pick for him if his stock is that high?

I think Shaub will be good but teams MUST be weary of the AJ Feeley fiasco.

Shaub is just a back-up until he proves it over a 16 game schedule.

This is the reason Ron Wolf had the philosophy of always trying to draft at least one QB every year. He knew that if that QB flashed in preseason or better yet in a regular season game or two that the value other teams would place on that player would rise substantially. Its amazing. Throw a couple of TDs and you can go from having no value to 1st or 2nd round value.
