Good find.

I agree that we can find a good LB in the 2nd or 3rd round, so unless Hawk is still on the board we might as well draft a different position in the 1st.

2003 - under Callahan - best year utilized, 40 attempt/203 yards, 5.1 average
Zack - 48 attempt/148 yards, 3.0 average
Garner - 120 attempts, 553 yards, 4.6 average

Our O line was then gutted (lost Robbins, Collins, Kennedy) AND no real FB
2004 - under Norv - 35 attempts/126 yards, 3.6 average (Hires Amos)
2005 - under Norv - 5 attempts/28 yards, 5.6 average (Hires LJ)

He averages 5.6 yards receiving. 2003 - 19.7 yards average on kick off returns, not utilized there under Norv.

21 ST tackles. In all touches only fumbled 1 time.

I say give him a real shot under Shell/Walsh. Its not like a 3rd or 4th rounder is going to come in and perform better than Fargas as a COP back (if you still plan on LJ being the main guy).

I don't think RB (as opposed to FB) is a main concern. Fix/coach up the OL and get FB and all of the RBs will do well. I think Fargas can be our Willie Parker. Attention should be focus on G, LBs, DL.

Good post, I agree with all of it. Rep for you. Give Fargas an actual chance, his stats don't look bad when he has a line and is given some carries. Hes got talent. We need the change of pace back.

thanks for the info, out of all those picks, I think the ones that were the best for their value, have been Morrison and Gabriel. They were later round picks who have turned out good. I hope I can add Courtney Anderson to the list after his breakout year this year.

Not Really...he probably wont make it as a RB. He's supposed to be a kick returner which we dont really need at all.

I think they should look into free agency...is Maurice Morris and jonathan Wells still available?

I think fargas could help, but he is always hurt. He is extremely fast and I think we are banking on him to be healthy. If not, drew from ucla might be a steal because he is a change of pace back and he could help with special teams. It would be stupid to draft a runningback in the first two rounds because we don't need a starter.

C'mon Oakland dont leave that unaddressed....The draft and also the second FA Period, are both Great spots to address a change of pace back need.

C'mon Oakland.

we need to draft Joseph Addai or Maurice Drew in round 3....we need a backup change of pace RB who will not get nicked up..

good to know that might be a posibility. But does it say who we are interested in for a first round if we do not take a rb or a lb?

The film don't lie, the man belongs nowhere on the field until he learns how to pass block. The QB gets hit when Fargas is in. He can't keep people out of a passer's face.
