Vernon Davis
Anybody have any comments on the Raiders picking Vernon Davis in the 1st round? I say he's probably the best offensive player on the board besides Bush. I know we need to beef our D but, to pass on this guy would be wrong!

It wouldnt bother me at all unless we passed on Hawk, or Williams. Im not sold on Huff, and think the Raiders could do better than him at 7.

I like V. Davis
If Mario and AJ are not on the board this would be the classic Al Davis move. This guy would give defenses fits. Nice hands with speed. He would open our offense up and have us running on all cylinders. I will stand on my feelings we should address the defense first but I have this feeling V. Davis is our pick.

Davis would be nice, but yea i'll go with the general consensus of the board, defense first....only take him if Hawk and Mario are gone

Well I would like to go D. I wouldnt be mad if we got him but I dont know if we would utilize him right be maybe we would. I was thinking he could be gone anyways.
I know 2 is a hight spot for a TE but maybe he is on the Saints radar. With them siging Brees they might want to get him a guy he can go to like he did Gates.Cuse Brees really got his career going when Gates became on of the best TE's.

Our D has more pressing needs BUT could you even start to imagine what our O would be like IF we added Davis?There is NO way a D could truely cover every player we have.I mean WR's Moss,Gabe,Porter.TE-Davis, LJ or a FB from the backfield.They cannot cover everyone & then expect to throw in blitz packages.Our O would simply be SICK....

The only way I say we pick Davis is if Bush, Hawk, Mario, Dbrick, and Huff are all gone.

I posted over in "Premium" that Vernon Davis is the best TE prospect to come out -- EVER!
Winsolw II was all HYPE! Jay "kerry collins" Culter is all HYPE! Vernon Davis is mean, he has 4.3 speed, he's tenacious, crisp routes, loves to block, and he has good size! He will definitely be WAY better than Gonzalez and Gates!!! The guy is un-stoppable!!! No LB in the league will be able to stick with him. Imagine Moss on the outside, and Vernon Davis running underneath routes against LB's? On talent alone is is certainly a top 5 pick! Although the Raiders have Courtney Anderson, I'd love for them to pick up Vernon Davis.

If Walter is our starting QB I would love for him to have another weapon with Davis. If Walter doesn't start, I could care less because the season will be over before it started.
