RAIDERS WANTS VINCE
A league source tells us that the Oakland Raiders "were all over" quarterback Vince Young at his March 22 pro day workout in Austin, and that there's a strong belief in league circles the Raiders will select him with the seventh overall pick in the draft, if he's still available.
We're also told that the Raiders are worried that Young won't be available in the seven hole.
The Titans, with the third pick, could be the best bet to take Young. The Jets, at No. 4, are a more remote possibility. Other teams could try to strike a trade with one of the teams who pick before the Raiders in order to move up and get Young before the Raiders can gobble him up.
VINCE IS SLOWER THAN EXPECTED
ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Texas quarterback Vince Young ran the 40-yard dash in 4.58 seconds at his Wednesday pro day workout in Austin.
The effort, which came on a fast track, was described to Mortensen as "slower than expected."
Some scouts, we've heard, will add at least 0.1 seconds to times generated on a surface that is regarded as unfairly fast.
Young's throwing effort was inconclusive, Mortensen says. Although he completed 45 out of 50 passes, that source said, "That wasn't a remarkable achievement because he wasn't asked to make many tough throws and he waited a lot on his receivers to get out of their breaks. Teams that are curious about the guy are going to want to see more when they work him out."
The Titans will conduct a private workout of Young on Thursday, also in Austin.
The primary concerns regarding Young's mechanics are his semi-sidearm delivery and his inexperience taking snaps from under center

I know this web site is not always appreciated by fans and the mainstream media, but I have found it to be excellent and often has the inside scoop.
If the Raiders do draft VYoung, I think it will be one of the greatest mistakes in franchise history and will be the "straw that broke the camels back" with regards to the current leadership of the organization.
I hope I'm wrong but, Vince Young will be a wasted #7 pick.
