Good League News

Ryan Pickett - DL - Rams
DT Ryan Pickett's deal with the Packers is believed to be for five years at roughly $3.75 million per season. In this market, the Packers did well to pay him less money per year than Rocky Bernard and similiar to Larry Triplett. Pickett led defensive lineman in tackles in 2005. The deal should be signed Thursday. Mar. 16 - 9:52 am etSource: Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel
Joey Harrington - QB - Lions

All three Detroit newspapers agree Thursday: Joey Harrington is done as a Lion.Harrington has reportedly let the Lions know he wants to be traded or released and they are happy to oblige him. He's due a huge roster bonus on June 15th, but the Lions would probably like to deal him by the NFL Draft. Mar. 16 - 9:11 am etSource: Detroit Free Press

John Abraham - DL - Jets

Talks appear "serious" between the Seahawks and Jets after John Abraham's visit to Seattle. It's hard to know what to believe concerning Abraham. Either his agent or the Jets have floated a lot of situations being "serious" or "close" in order to finally spur a deal. Mar. 16 - 9:05 am etSource: Denver Post

Gus Frerotte - QB - Dolphins

Gus Frerotte was negotiating Wednesday with Denver, Houston, and Miami. He probably doesn't need to make visits because of his familiarity with each staff. Houston's interest is surprising considering the recent Sage Rosenfels signing. Mar. 16 - 9:01 am etSource: Miami Herald

Daunte Culpepper - QB - Dolphins

Coach Nick Saban said Daunte Culpepper has made "remarkable progress" in his recovery from knee surgery."If you discussed it with his doctor, he would tell you the same thing," Saban said. He expressed hope Culpepper could be ready for the season. Mar. 16 - 8:59 am etSource: Miami Herald

Terrell Owens - WR - Eagles

The Dolphins have no interest in bringing in a receiver to challenge their starters. They don't have much cap room and Nick Saban spoke highly Wednesday of Marty Booker remaining a starter. Terrell Owens chimed in with a great quote, "If you want to pay me $2 million, I'll give you $2 million worth of work. I'll play 30 plays a game for you." Mar. 16 - 8:57 am etSource: South Florida Sun-Sentinel

Daunte Culpepper - QB - Dolphins

Daunte Culpepper has reportedly already re-structured his contract with the Dolphins.According to the Palm Beach Post, Culpepper will received a prorated $7 million signing bonus along with a $1 million base salary. Essentially, it's the same amount of money he was getting from the Vikings in 2006 - just moved around. Mar. 16 - 8:53 am etSource: Palm Beach Post

Tom Ashworth - T - Patriots

The Dolphins are bidding against the Bucs for T Tom Ashworth's services.Ashworth is mostly useful for his versatility. He's probably play right tackle in Miami. Mar. 16 - 8:50 am etSource: Palm Beach Post

Sam Adams - DL - Bills

The Bengals have expressed interest in DT Sam Adams.Adams' reputation around the league has fallen quite a bit with roughly 10-12 defensive tackles already signed in free agency before him. Mar. 16 - 8:39 am etSource: Dayton Daily News

Rocky Boiman - LB - Titans

Free agent LB Rocky Boiman will visit the Bengals Thursday. The oft-injured former Titan would add depth to the Bengals linebacker group. Mar. 16 - 8:35 am etSource: Cincinnati Enquirer

Antonio Chatman - WR - Packers

Antonio Chatman will meet with the Bengals Friday. The former Packer's arrival could mean the Bengals won't match the offer sheet Kevin Walter signed with Houston. Chatman would likely be the team's No. 4 receiver and help on return units. Mar. 16 - 8:34 am etSource: Cincinnati Enquirer

Michael Bennett - RB - Vikings

Michael Bennett visited the Saints Wednesday. They are looking for a backup to Deuce McAllister. It was Bennett's first visit, who has to be finding free agency disappointing. He said he's spoken to the Colts, Dolphins, and Panthers previously. Mar. 16 - 8:32 am etSource: St. Paul Pioneer Press

Craig Nall - QB - Packers

Craig Nall will visit with the Bills Wednesday. It's a strange fit with Kelly Holcomb and J.P. Losman already in place. Nall also visited the Vikings, but said he may as well stay in Green Bay if he's going to be a No. 3 quarterback. Mar. 16 - 8:29 am etSource: St. Paul Pioneer Press

Josh McCown - QB - Cardinals

Josh McCown has been contacted by the Vikings.Contacted and having him for a visit is quite different. McCown visited the Raiders, but may not find his chance to compete for a starting job. Mar. 16 - 8:28 am etSource: St. Paul Pioneer Press

Keyshawn Johnson - WR - Cowboys

No free agent visits have been set up for Keyshawn Johnson. The Panthers and Patriots are two teams Keyshawn would like to join, and it appears New England has made some contact. The Patriots may also be keeping their eye on Eric Moulds' situation in Buffalo. Mar. 16 - 8:22 am etSource: Boston Herald

Jon Runyan - T - Eagles

The Patriots are reportedly interested in T Jon Runyan.Runyan picked a funny week to go to the Cayman Islands. New England, who has been totally silent to this point, could also show interest in Keyshawn Johnson. Mar. 16 - 8:13 am etSource: Philadelphia Inquirer & Daily News

Patrick Ramsey - QB - Redskins

The Redskins gave Patrick Ramsey permission to talk with the Bucs.Tampa is looking for a quality backup for Chris Simms. Tim Rattay apparently doesn't apply. The Jets offered a seventh-round pick for him. The Redskins want a fourth-rounder. Mar. 16 - 8:12 am etSource: ESPN.com Insider

Chris Hope - DB - Titans

Chris Hope's contract with the Titans averages $5 million a season and includes $10 million in guarantees.Yikes. We thought Adam Archuleta's contract was bad, but this one may be worse. Free safety just isn't a position where a lot of money needs to be invested unless you have Sean Taylor. Mar. 16 - 8:10 am etSource: ESPN.com Insider

Jabar Gaffney - WR - Eagles

Jabar Gaffney agreed to a one-year contract with the Eagles.Gaffney caught 55 passes in 2005 and was an underrated third-down threat for the Texans. It's uncertain how he'll fit into Philadelphia's attack, but he'll probably compete for the No. 2 and No. 3 receiver roles. Mar. 16 - 8:00 am etSource: Philadelphia Inquirer

Rod Gardner - WR - Packers

Packers re-signed WR Rod Gardner to a one-year contract.Gardner has gone from fantasy sleeper to struggling to stay in the league in a matter of years. There is opportunity for playing time in Green Bay, so he's someone to keep an eye on. Mar. 15 - 8:19 pm etSource: ESPN.com
